Definitely a gem! Walked in and was immediately seated by the sweetest lady with a fantastic smile. She brought out my drink and a basket of chips with salsa. For those who may be very sensitive to spice there is a little kick to it but it is delicious.
I ordered the lunch steak quesadilla and two campechanos tacos. I like how they have the old school window area where you can see the person cooking your food. The sound of the grill sizzling was making me even more hungry.
Everything was hot, fresh and delicious. I was very impressed of their pricing give me today’s landscape for local restaurants and the amount of food they gave for the price.
This is a place I will be visiting more regularly while I’m in the area. Plenty of other items on this menu that I want to try! And with the level of service I may just come back every day ☺️

It’s been a while since I went back to the restaurant and I’m not sure if they change the chef but the food was good before and now it’s even better!!!
Everything was delicious, the rice and beans are amazing! Everything is so flavorful.
It’s a small restaurant and the staff are polite, efficient, and friendly.
There’s parking right outside, I usually find parking without any problem.
Prices are fair.
Portions are pretty generous.
Every time I visit the restaurant is clean.
They have nice decoration and pictures of their food on the wall and menu.
They are usually playing music and it’s not too loud.

Great local restaurant with phenomenal food and great prices! Fajita night is our favorite! And they have the best chicken tacos I have ever had! The chicken is so juicy. They don’t serve margaritas like what you usually see at Mexican restaurants, but the food is some of the best you’ll get!

The service was horrible, two guys were serving and one of them was so rude for no reason. Need better service. The food was ok, but from the moment we sat down, they acted like our presence was a inconvenience. There are too many great places in the city to waste your time and money being treated like a nuisance.

The food was barely edible. The steak was so chewy my dog didn’t even like it. And they gave us some old burnt chips that were stuck together and broken. Very expensive for luke warm food with no seasoning. So odd.
On top of this my friend said they were rude while he was picking up the food. And lastly the one of my takeout containers was melted thru and spilled sauce everywhere.

Small restaurant big on customer service and great food. The salsa was a little too spicy for me but my family loved it. The pico had a bit too many onions but that’s my personal preference. The food was very flavorful and we were extremely satisfied. We will definitely return.

El Molcajete located in the Mt Gallant Plaza at 1204-1 Mt Gallant Rd in Rock Hill SC is a tremendous Mexican Restaurant. Small and unassuming, the food here is amazingly good. Highly recommended!! Delicious Meat, Chicken, tortillas – one of the best of the best in the Charlotte area for a Mexican meal. Friendly, welcoming staff too.
