Lee’s Hoagie House was a staple for our family as I grew up in the 70s and 80s. They made me a lifetime hoagie lover. Always the best bread, best meats, generous belly filling sandwiches every time. We always went to the Ardmore location back in the day. When I left college the University City location was close to me and that became where I went. Finally when I moved to NE Phila to start a family, Castor ave kept the tradition alive. Same menu, same experience, same great hoagies and steaks from when I was a kid. Sadly, I guess Covid and the ravages of time have resulted in most of their locations closing all around the region. The Abington location, reviewed today, is closest to me now and not too far, about a 20-30 minute trip.
Unfortunately, Lee’s today is just not the Lee’s of old. I was able to get half of my goto order, which was always a half Italian Cheltenham with the works (except no sweet peppers) but my goto cheesesteak (the Double Supreme) doesnt seem to exist anymore. In fact, the menu is almost completely different now. Some of the sandwiches have stayed the same, but I think theyre expansion into other choices and selections like wings, mega fries, apps, etc. seems to have diluted the focus they used to have on providing some of the greatest hoagies and steaks in and around Philadelphia. Even the Italian hoage may have been called the same, it was just not the high quality I’ve been used to from Lee’s. And the steak was simply standard fare. A big disappointment to me, whose been a loyal fan of this local franchise for close to 50 years. Seems like the end of an era.

Ordered Bacon Cheesesteak with hot peppers and it was very good. Employees are very nice and restaurant is very clean with good atmosphere. Do recommend Lee’s Hoagies, they have big menu to chose from. Plan to go back again when I am in the area.

Placed a last minute pickup order tonight with my wife while we were out running errands. Tuna hoagie with hot peppers and some chicken fingers and fries. Well, here I am after consuming my food writing a 5 star review. The hoagie was perfect. The chicken and fries were hot, crispy, and delicious. The staff were super friendly to top it all off. If you grew up anywhere in the surrounding counties or just PA/NJ, Lee’s is a fixture and there’s a reason. Yes, it’s a franchise so sometimes you may hit a bad one, but Abington’s location is not one of em. I’m excited to go back and get more hoagies. Go birds.

Who writes a glowing review for a hoagie place? Well, I’ve been going to this Lee’s since I moved in 21 years ago. Their quality has never changed, neither has their customer service, both excellent. You need a fast party tray… no problem! They deliver, they’re locally owned and operated and they have quality products at fair prices. Can’t ask for anything more! Don’t go to those chain places, SHOP LOCAL!

Love getting food from here! Their sandwhiches are packed with meat and toppings, and their bread is always so fresh! Additionally they have a kosher style hoagie which is nice for my friends that don’t eat pork! Will continue to frequent this spot!

I and my Family have always brought our Hoagies since the the 1960’s from Lee’s Hoagies from when they used to be 19th and Cheltenham Ave. Since then, they have moved years ago onto Old York Road, in Abington, Pa and their Hoagies still taste the same…..
THE BEST IN PHILLY !

WORTH GETTING A FEW HOAGIES TO TAKE TO RELATIVES WHO LIVE IN A DIFFERENT STATE……NEW JERSEY AS A TREAT !!!
IT IS ALWAYS SUCH A GREAT TREAT FOR US !!!
THANK YOU LEE’S FOR BEING “THEE BEST OF THEE BEST!!!”

The restaurant is always clean. When placing your order, go to the farthest part of the counter. View some of the specials on the wall before you order. The menu is place above the register with hoagies, steaks, sides, drinks and much more. My go to is the cheese steak. Living in Philly, I don’t eat cheesesteaks anymore but I will grab a Lee’s steak in Abington to satisfy my guilty pleasure.

Picked up a chicken wrap from Abington hospital cafeteria where Lee’s hoagie had a station set up. Arguably the worst sandwich I’ve ever had. Chicken was mostly breaded with minimal meat. Even then they had just a few nuggets sized chicken. If you’re going to sell mostly a wrap filled with lettuce then it a lettuce sandwich and not charge $10 for lettuce inside a wrap. You should be ashamed to make money by cheating customers.

Order arrived correct and on time but we came to Philly and wanted authentic cheese stakes- these fid NOT satisfy my family’s cravings. First the meat was underwhelming and needs seasoning. Secondly we had to search for the cheese. Lastly, the fries were so so. Could have gotten more authentic cheese stake in Maryland.

Best Italian hoagie I’ve had in a long time! Even my youngest son who doesn’t like onions or tomatoes devoured a piece with both on it and came back looking for more!
