The service at this location is always great. They are very friendly and courteous. This last time I went though the amount of fries received was definitely lacking. Usually the put a scoop into the bag which didn’t happen and the cup wasn’t full. For the amount I paid for fries expected and have received more. I thought maybe the policy had changed but when I went to lunch at the location near Univ of Delaware, they did it like they always do. Maybe they were running out of fries that day. This is still my go to Five Guys primarily because of the staff.

Burgers were amazing and the shakes were even better. I come here for the fries you pay for a small and get a large.

Don’t come and save your money,
The burger so simple and the fries are the worst that I have seen ever.
You can make better at home

Nothing like overpaying for 1 burger, waiting 30mins, to be missing toppings, and be scorned on the side as if its my fault. What happened to service ?

Been to a fair amount of 5guys on the east coast from DMV to PA.
But this spot right here should be the model for all of them.
Fast food done right
100% its because of the staff.
Actual professionals, who you can tell, whatever they do in life they try to do it right (rare these days in any industry) and you can feel and taste it here.
They’re good hearted and chill; and I hope this review helps keep them that way.

This five guys literally does not fulfill DoorDash for nothing. This is the 2nd time my order has been delivered with one item or nothing at all. I know it’s not the dashers because the seal is always on the bag so it is a reflection of the lack of detail on the restaurant’s front. Needs work seriously.

Really hit or miss with quality at this location. Some crews are really good. Seems like most of tonight’s crew was too. Most of. So I thought I knew what it was, but apparently the way I have always had a black and white milkshake in the 40+ years I have been drinking them is wrong according to the arrogant employee making them around 7PM 2/26. He gave me a clearly chocolate shake which is what he even called out, and when I said “it’s supposed to be black and white, chocolate and vanilla” (which the ticket even says!!!), he arrogantly and incorrectly tells me in a condescending tone that “a black and white milkshake is a shot of chocolate mixed in to vanilla ice cream”. So that leads me assume that means you have multiple flavors of ice cream now? And no longer carry a syrup called vanilla? I didn’t ask for it to be remade due to the absolutely horrendous attitude from the incorrect employee. I’m the customer who will just go elsewhere next time. This location was starting to compete with Hockessin location for my business, but I’ll stick to making the longer drive to Hockessin where they always make it wrong apparently if this is the attitude that’s accepted at the main street location.

Usually I love five guys. It’s one of my favorite burger chains. HOWEVER the owner of this particular one dropped the ball when it came to training their employees because they definitely do not prepare the food to regular Five Guys’ standards. We’ve tried to eat here twice hoping that the first time was a fluke and gave the benefit of the doubt for just having opened, but there wasn’t any improvement this second time. Both times the buns not only weren’t toasted, but they weren’t even all the way defrosted. They also didn’t melt the cheese on the burgers. On top of that, they don’t fry the fries long enough. They came out undercooked and soggy both times. Both times we ended up not eating much of what we got. We’ll try again in a few months with the hope that the staff will be better trained by then.
