SUPERBURGER has more than 60 years of history serving made to order hamburgers from our original location on 4th street in Santa Rosa. A Superburger is a rustic grind of choice chuck steaks grilled to order. Our standard patty is 7 ounces and is cooked medium well to a warm rosy center unless you have a special request. Superburgers come with the fixings on the side: crispy iceberg lettuce, lively red onion, good ol’ tomato and fresh brined pickles. If you prefer grass fed beef just ask we have you covered. If you are craving the ultimate meatless burger experience you are in luck, we have that too.

We stopped here on our way to our destination and were pleasantly surprised by how well we were taken care of. My husband ordered the Blue & Black Burger, while I had the classic cheeseburger- both were flavorful and perfectly prepared. The atmosphere was inviting, with a constant flow of guests, and the staff was friendly, attentive, and welcoming. A great place to enjoy a delicious meal.

If you are anywhere near this establishment and you haven’t eaten here, you are doing life wrong!! I was visiting from out of town and was looking at going to a couple different burger places and man am I glad I choose this Superburger at 8204 Old Redwood Hwy, Cotati, CA 94931.
I ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger and side of fries. Food was fresh and made to order, hot and most importantly, delicious.!! From the first bite the juices were dripping from the moist burger defiantly a multi napkin experience. The meat is locally sourced and you can taste the difference. The restaurant is clean, the staff was friendly and just a fun vibe. They also have a few brews on tap if you like some suds with your burger. Be sure to check out the pickle bar. This is a must stop if you are anywhere near by, worth the stop and pulling off the 101 even if just passing through. Num Num!!!!

We’ve eaten at all SuperBurger locations and the burgers are the among the best we’ve ever eaten – even compared to ones we make at home! I always get the Half & Half fries and onion rings which are also extremely good! Even though we have tried other brands, when my family goes out for burgers, there is no where else we would want eat at!

Found myself in town and was starving and ended up here as the burgers looked pretty good.
Ended up ordering a spicy buffalo chicken sandwich with fries and a lemonade. I was expecting it would be fried but ended up being grilled, which was fine, I still enjoyed it. The fries were standard. Lemonade was pretty good.
The waitress/cashier was VERY friendly and accommodating. She wiped my table and apologized for it being dirty (it seemed fine to me!) brought me my food when it was ready, even offered to refill my Lemonade when she saw it was empty without me asking.
I could see myself returning here to try something else on the menu if I’m ever passing through Cotati again.

Superburger is a local favorite in Santa Rosa, California, earning its reputation as a go-to spot for classic, hearty hamburgers. With its retro vibe, attentive service, and consistently satisfying food, Superburger stands out as one of Sonoma County’s best burger joints.
Atmosphere & Setting
Superburger delivers on nostalgic charm with its casual, diner-style setting. The ambiance is unfussy and welcoming, whether you’re grabbing a quick bite or dining in with family or friends. Seating is comfortable, and the staff are known for being friendly and efficient, adding to the hometown feel.
Menu & Food Quality
The menu is focused and straightforward—burgers are clearly the stars here, but there are also hot dogs, sandwiches, fries, onion rings, and milkshakes. Each burger is made to order, with fresh, juicy patties cooked perfectly and a choice of classic toppings. Specialty burgers and options like turkey or veggie patties cater to different tastes. The buns are fresh, and the ingredients—from lettuce and tomato to pickles and cheese—are always crisp and flavorful.
The fries are golden and crispy, and the onion rings are a popular side—thick, crunchy, and never greasy. Milkshakes are rich and creamy, rounding out the classic burger-joint experience.
Value & Portions
With burgers in the $10–20 range, Superburger offers generous portions that justify the price. Combo meals and a la carte options provide flexibility for different appetites. Given the quality of the food and the portion sizes, most diners find Superburger to be a good value.
Service
Service is prompt and attentive, with staff who seem genuinely happy to be there. Orders are accurate, and wait times are reasonable even during busy periods. The team is quick to answer questions about the menu or accommodate special requests.
Areas for Improvement
Superburger’s popularity can mean a wait for a table during peak hours, and parking can be limited at some locations. The menu could benefit from a few more healthier or lighter options, but as a classic burger spot, it excels at what it does best.
Conclusion
Superburger is a must-visit for anyone craving a classic American hamburger in Santa Rosa. Its retro charm, high-quality food, and friendly service combine for a reliably satisfying meal. Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Superburger delivers an authentic and delicious burger experience every time.

I’ve been a long-time customer and have never had an issue until my last two visits, both involving the same cashier who refused to give me her name.

On my most recent visit, I ordered the Grilled Onion Classic burger, specifically requesting no raw onion and no pickles, and did so again when placing this order. I also clarified that I wanted my wife’s burger well-done due to her pregnancy, and my burger medium-rare. Despite these clear instructions, my wife’s burger was cooked medium to almost rare, and mine was nearly raw. To make matters worse, the burger still contained raw onions, despite my explicit request.

When I initially placed the order, the cashier failed to ask about the burger temperature, which is standard practice everywhere else I order burgers. I had to go back to the counter after sitting down to specify the temperatures. When I complained about the previous order having raw onions and pickles despite my requests, she dismissively said, ‘You’d have to say something about it when it happened.’
Later, after realizing she hadn’t asked about the temperature, I approached her again. I also asked for a drink, which she gave me for free, seemingly acknowledging her errors. While I was able to eat my burger due to hunger, my wife, being pregnant, was deeply concerned about the undercooked meat and was visibly upset, crying a little about the potential impact on our baby.

When I called to speak with a manager, the same cashier answered and was incredibly rude. She simply stated, ‘I’m going to refund you.’ When I told her I wanted to make a complaint about her to her boss, she replied, ‘I can’t help you with that, but at least you’re getting a free burger.’ I insisted she take my number so her boss could call me.
This cashier’s rude demeanor and lack of care are unacceptable. Other establishments consistently ask about burger temperature and if I need anything else, but she did not. Her refusal to provide her name and overall attitude suggest this may not be an isolated incident. I work hard for my money and am a loyal customer, and we did not deserve this kind of service, especially given the importance of food safety during pregnancy. The other employee who is usually there provides excellent service, so this recent experience was particularly disappointing.

Superburger’s new location in Cotati is spectacular! My family and I opted to eat at the counter and we had such a wonderful meal. Our server was super friendly, accommodating to young kids’ requests, and checked in with us at the perfect times throughout our meal. As for the food, Superburger absolutely lives up to its name. These burgers are just like my Dad used to grill up on our old Weber when I was a kid, and I mean that in the best possible way. My kids are chicken tenders and grilled cheese and those were prepared just right as well. The fries are top-notch, there’s a condiment bar with fresh everything and a few types of pickles, I really couldn’t ask for more. Superburger is definitely at the top of our family list for local burger spots!

I only go here for the milkshakes since most of the food has gone downhill but the milkshakes are great unless they’re served melted like the last couple times I’ve tried getting them like a milk shake should be cold not milk with flavoring

This used to be my favorite burger spot but it has gone steadily downhill since the pandemic. Last week I was craving a burger so we went and it was THE worst! I will never go again. My onion rings were cold, the bacon was WAY overcooked -hard and dry- like it had been cooked several days before, and my burger was so hard and dry that I could barely cut through it with a knife. When I peeled off the cheese I could see just how burned it was and deep black grill marks. The condiment bar was very unclean and had some moldy paper towels around a couple of the pickle bins.
