My family of 8 pulled up here for lunch, got seated fast and our order was taken even faster. I ordered the chicken and ribs combo plate, Very good ribs, delicious chicken! The sauce is outstanding! I tried a bit of the pizza and that was pretty good too. The beer wall is very interesting

Terrific!!! I ordered the Lazy Boy with pork. The provolone cheese and grilled onions added the taste of the delicious pork. The pork was plentiful, and the bun was fresh and tasty. My wife got the pork plate, which I finished for her. A spoon would have helped with the side of chili. I just put some pork into the chili and soaked up the tasty chili liquid. The soda and the beer is self service. The soda has free refills, but the beer does not give you free refills {we can dream}. We sat on the outside deck and enjoyed the beautiful views while we enjoyed our lunch. FIVE star all the way!

AMAZING PIZZA. loaded fries are also a must. our family of 6 got 2 pizzas loaded fries and the chicken for 2 meal to split. the bbq chicken pizza was so good and the pineapple is fresh on the Hawaiian. SIT ON THE BACK PATIO. we sat on the front porch and only realized there was a beautiful ocean view in the back after our meal. we also walked to the black sand beach after for sunset.

This place is a fully automated vending machine for frozen appetizers. It’s hard to find any actual chicken on the menu, but having tried the veggie spring rolls, I’m glad we didn’t. The self-pouring beer thing is kind of novel, though it’s impossible to end up with less than half foam (and I’ve poured beer professionally in the era when they still paid humans to do that).

After almost 3 weeks on the Islands the worst food! We read the mixed reviews but -as it’s close to our appt- gave it a try.
My sample platter was partly cold and after it saw the microwave the tasteless and dry stuff was at least warm.
The chili bowl wasn’t too bad, bit the meat was unacceptable. Some greasy fat parts in between.

The property is nice. Good peek at the ocean. I’m not wild about the order on an ap format, but a friendly server came by and offered us menus.
We ordered online. It wasn’t too tough and we got what we ordered. Unfortunately two out of three lunches were not edible. All three plates had charred food. My wife’s nachos had pork that was charred black. Grease was running all over the plate. She ate a couple of bites. I had a Lazy Boy barbecued pork sandwich. The taste was way off. I’m not sure whether the cheese or barbecue sauce or both were spoiled. Regardless, it wasn’t edible. My son’s burger bun was burned, but his was edible. Barely.
The server said she was sorry for our poor food.
We are in Kauai for several weeks. I’ll usually give a restaurants a couple of trys before ruling them out. This one didn’t earn a second chance.

Very nice location eating on the veranda. The rest was marginal. Got the sampler plate. Pulled pork was so dry it was crispy. Mac and cheese nuggets and sauce were cold. Chicken was OK. Beer wall was closed. Won’t return.

We LOVE Chicken in a Barrel! Definitely one of our regular spots we love to visit on the island frequently. We got 2 orders of the half chicken and let me tell you, it is roasted to PERFECTION & delicious it’s always on point. Moist and succulent We also ordered a small pepperoni pizza and it was fantastic as well. Thin-ish crust and cooked perfectly as well. Also ordered the pupu of fried pickles w/ ranch, another good one! Everything was so dang good!! If your here and want to eat some great food with an awesome atmosphere and beautiful scenery this place is a must. Too add, they also have amazing drinks/beer/alcoholic beverages!!! We got lucky and were there on there Trivia Game night and had so much fun(friday) Me and my husband played the trivia game while our 4 yr old twins kept busy with the giant connect 4 game on the lanai. Always a fun time at this awesome establishment! 10/10 would recommend!

I had chicken in a barrel earlier that week on the North shore, loved it, then as we traveled to Waimea I learned it was a small chain. Made me a little less excited about it, but it was still really good. Big fan of their loaded fries. The pizza was very good, not journal worthy, but still very enjoyable. The BBQ was good, everyone enjoyed the chicken plate.
