25th Dec, Chinese lunch became a tradition. We wanted to get out and get some fresh air, decided to go for Chinese in memory of my wife’s late mom. She liked this place and she used to go with the family to this restaurant. Memories came back for my wife and we enjoyed a quiet lunch. First we had to wait a bit (somehow the staff was very busy with delivery activities and forgot us), but once a nice waiter noticed that we were back on track. We started with Green Tea, Vegetable Spring Rolls, moved on to Chicken Sweet-Sour and Chicken Lo Mein. The portions are huge, we could easily have done one entree and still take food home. Now we have a LOT of chinese food at home.
The interior design and atmosphere is a bit dated, but isn’t that what we came for, the memories and the good food?! We like it. I still give it overall a 5-star, liked out the waiter, he really made an effort.

My family and I have been ordering from China Chef on and off for the past 10 years. We usually stick to the basics, Beef & Broccoli and Cashew Chicken, because most of the other classic dishes were never very good. In my opinion, the sauces have always tasted bland, almost like they came straight from a can. That said, as long as I knew what to expect and ordered “safe” dishes, I usually wasn’t disappointed.

It had been a while since my family and I last ordered Chinese food, and this was easily the worst experience we’ve had. I had to add salt to my sesame-fried chicken because the chicken had no flavor. The sauce tasted like a watered-down sweet-and-sour mixture, thin, flat, and uninspired. There was no spice, no depth, and barely any vegetables.
My wife and kids ordered the Beef & Broccoli, and it was just as bad. The beef was bland, and the brown sauce was not rich or gravy-like; more like a diluted cornstarch slurry.
China Chef was never great, but this time the food was genuinely bad and way over-priced!

the short ribs were tender and sweet. the egg rolls were great, according to my father. i found them to be a bit greasy. the fried rice was my favorite dish we received. i mostly ate that. we also had a shrimp dish which was extremely salty and took my mother and my appetite away. overall okay experience.

This is a very old school Chinese restaurant, the cooking style is meant to be for old taste buds and not the most authentic. It’s also not the best value too. But it seems this place fits the locals taste palette.

I want to start by saying the food here is good. The management is terrible. Do not come here during peak hours. Don’t order ahead for pickup during those hours. Just don’t do it. Because when it’s busy they don’t pick up the phone. And you and 100 other people will be standing huddled together in between the tables in a clear fire code violation waiting for hours. People will get their food before your when their pickup was after you, and no I’ve there is in charge.
And when it’s busy, no one knows anything. I’m pretty sure I spoke with the owner, although he wouldn’t admit it, he was just the only person there not doing any work. And listen. I get it. Places get busy. That’s not the problem here. It’s the complete lack of communication. I tried to call ahead, no one picked up. The 3 hours I was there not I’ve person picked up the phone it just rang non stop. so people just kept coming and coming and coming. Just absolute clown shoes over there

We put an advance order in for Christmas Day. When arriving there at the specified time, the place was completely crowded and disorganized. When I finally got to talk to somebody, they couldn’t find the order in their system at all. A manager eventually found the slip of paper with our order on it, and went back to the kitchen, then never came back to talk to me at all. After 40 minutes of waiting after when I was supposed to have a pickup order ready, I just left.
This place may have wonderful food, but for trying to order a holiday meal, I would seek elsewhere
