We love Peyton’s Rex Rooster! Great atmosphere and good eatin!!! You gotta get there early to get a seat and faster service because there is only one bartender who is also the server. They have a digital jukebox that we got to load songs to to livin up the vibes even more! We love visiting Historic Idlewild and you have to come to the Red Rooster while your here!!!

Clean, bright, and the beer was cold. The Texan style burger with BBQ and onion ring was one of the worst things I’ve ever eaten at a bar. I don’t blame the cook/employee, I blame the hockey puck quality burger and beanie weenie flavored BBQ sauce I paid $15 for. Pitiful

Was told kitchen was open until 11pm and it actually closed at 9:45pm and we weren’t told until after half the table ordered. The staff dictated what they would do, which was to walk out and stand in front socializing. The owner was nice, I guess. I got a taste of someone else’s food in my party, so the chicken was flavorful.

They are doing a good job of bringing this bar and grill back to life. The inside has a clean feeling. While the food menu is limited the prices are very reasonable. Nice place to stop in for a beer and some wings.

We’ve been up to Idlewild a few times but always miss when it’s open so we made a special point to go today. It was awesome, fast, kind sercive, great food, and a really chill atmosphere that was welcoming. Our waitress was so awesome, and she appeared to be the only one so the quick service was impressive. We go up to Baldwin all the time so we will be coming back many times. Definitley recomend.

Went with family on vacation . It’s Overly Brightly lit, pot lights everywhere! No Dj or No Music, only a digital juke box. The juke box took some of my money without actually playing my requested song. It doesn’t have the neighborly ambiance like the original Red Rooster used to have or any small town nice bar. I didn’t stay in there but did sit in there picnic area, didn’t try the food. We went on a Juneteenth holiday weekend Saturday night.
