Reviews
The first major issue was the food quality. The pasta salad actually tasted fairly good, but it was served in a bowl full of liquid like soup, which was odd. The kimchi did not taste fresh at all. Most disappointing was the meat — the most important part of KBBQ. We ordered Option B at $35 per person, which is a decent price for all-you-can-eat, but the quality reflected the price. The meat was extremely chewy and fatty to the point that I had to spit out multiple pieces. You could really taste the poor quality, and it made for a very unsatisfying dinner.
The second issue was service. At first, our waiter was attentive and checked on us a few times. But after our first round of food, he never came back. He seemed focused on a larger table, and we were left waiting. I asked him for water refills and extra napkins TWICE, and he still forgot. Thankfully, the worker from the bar noticed and stepped in to serve us — if it wasn’t for him, this would have been a 1-star review.
Would I come back? Probably not, and I wouldn’t recommend it to friends either. I might consider giving it another shot if staffing improves and the food quality gets better, but as of now, it wasn’t a great experience.
What really stood out was how hands on and knowledgeable Eric was with the cooking. He was constantly at our table helping cook the meats, making sure everything was cooked perfectly and evenly. He explained what cuts were best cooked longer versus quicker, adjusted the grill when needed, and made sure nothing ever overcooked or went to waste. Because of him, every bite was perfectly seasoned, juicy, and exactly how KBBQ is meant to be enjoyed. It felt like we were getting a personalized dining experience rather than just standard service.
On top of his technical skill, Eric’s attitude and personality were exceptional. He was friendly, upbeat, and genuinely enthusiastic about his job, which made the whole experience feel more fun and engaging. He never made us feel like a burden even though KBBQ requires constant attention. Instead, he seemed happy to help and always did so with a smile. That level of care and positivity is rare and does not go unnoticed.
Eric also did an amazing job making sure our table stayed clean and organized throughout the meal. Plates were cleared promptly, grill changes were done efficiently, and drinks and sides were always refilled on time. Everything flowed smoothly, which allowed us to fully relax and enjoy the food and company without worrying about anything else. That kind of seamless service takes real effort and professionalism.
Overall, Eric absolutely deserves recognition for the outstanding service he provides. He turned a great meal into an unforgettable experience and set a very high standard for what KBBQ service should look like. If you are dining here, I highly recommend asking for Eric. He is attentive, skilled, personable, and truly cares about making sure guests leave happy. Five stars is honestly not enough for the level of service he delivers.
On top of that, Eric was incredibly kind and engaging. He checked in consistently without being overbearing, made sure everything tasted right, and was genuinely interested in having a conversation. He talked about his interests and created a relaxed, friendly atmosphere that made the meal feel personal rather than transactional.
Overall, Eric truly made the dining experience. Great service, great attention to detail, and great energy all around. The food and sauces were excellent, but the service is what really stood out. I’d absolutely come back and hope to have Eric again.
The menu updates with the split pricing for “premium” items is horrific. They are also charging for appetizers now which used to be included in the price. These critiques are before the food is even ordered.
Food quality and proportions have taken a hit also. I ordered the KPOP steak and got a nugget sized piece and had to order two more times to equal what was previously one portion. Sadly, I can no longer recommend going here anymore. This area has plenty of other KBBQ options.
Where is the authentic Korean taste? Absent for sure. I can name 4 places blocks away that smoke this spot.
I heard about this place and wanted to give it a try and am glad I have permanently marked it off my list.
Do yourself a favor and explore the many other Korean options in the immediate area. The food there will be better.
I guess if you have bought completely into the “pop” aspect, no pun intended, you might enjoy the place. I also suppose if you are not familiar with true Korean food, you might like the all you can eat component. Meh. It’s just Meh!
Please take the time to replace your sickening water cups. The edges appear chewed and disgusting .
We came in around 10:45. Google maps says they close at 12, and we confirmed on the door before walking in. We were sat around 10:55 and ordered our meats, sides, and appetizer. The server did not note our order down and had to come back and ask what we ordered a few minutes later. I went to the bathroom and the toilet was just broken. The handle just spun around and around. Had to use the mens room. We had to remind the server about our side dishes (corn, egg, and rice cake) after he only came out with the meat. When we asked about rice, the server said they were out but would check with the manager. We had to remind him a 2nd time to check, and when he came back, he said, “My manager refuses to make more.” it was around 11:07 when this occurred. Around 11:27, we wanted to order more meat only to find out they closed in 3 minutes. The server told us that. I pointed out that the door said 12 and that google Maps said 12. Server said he would get the manager. When he arrived, he began to explain how all restaurants close 30 minutes before what is listed on the door and how there is a thing called last call. I pointed out that we were not informed when the last call was or that there was one. Then he told us that the server had sat us at 11:30 and I said no, we weren’t. We sat around 11. He kinda sputtered, not knowing what to say and being caught in a lie twice. I told him that I should have been informed that there was going to be a last call at 11:30 so I could have eaten somewhere else. He said he would give us a 20% discount, but then the check came it was only an 8%. Additionally, the bowl that the egg souffle came in was very cracked and seemed like a health and safety issue. Left still hungry and upset
Even though the picture of the door is blurry, you can still definitely see that it says 12.
