Pretty good BBQ. Ranch beans were excellent. Good baked tater, but counts as two sides, we thought that was a bit wrong. Even though big, taters are cheap. Maybe go smaller tater and leave room to try another side without the upcharge. Loved the Sedona Sauce. A little pricey, but very tasty. Everyone working there was very nice. Thanks.

Order at the counter, get your food and find a table. Lots of sandwich and meat options. Very friendly service! Ribs were seasoned nicely but could have been more tender for my tastes. Brisket was a little dry but maybe I just got some lean cuts. BBQ sauces were excellent.
I got the 2 meat plate which comes with 2 sides and a corn muffin. When I sat down, I realized I didn’t have my corn muffin and one of my sides which was a little annoying.
Overall, it was good and I’ll definitely return, hopefully to a 5 star experience.

If your looking for fall off the bone and are hungry go for the full rack with a kick. Another great choice is the pulled pork. Highly recommend the homemade applesauce and you might as well order an extra corn bread muffin because you’ll wish you had 2! Rona has amazing customer service and excels with meeting the needs of each patron. Thanks Rona for sending me back to Phoenix with a great meal!

In town for work, and the coworkers and I decided to try Lucy Dee’s for dinner. The line moves a bit slowly, but it’s worth the wait. The staff were very helpful and friendly as they answered our questions and helped us decide what to order. I ordered the Messy Texan, a pulled pork sandwich with their Texas BBQ sauce and coleslaw on a toasted bun.
The slaw was fantastically tasty and crunchy, just how I like it, and the pulled pork was soft and packed full of flavor. I also had a side of potato salad, and a bottle of beer, all for $15, and I was left feeling full and satisfied.
The staff even came around a couple of times and asked everyone how they were doing, which is quite unheard of for a place like this. Very nice, simple touch that left us feeling cared for and seen. It’s like they’ve injected both their food and the customer experience with some of that sweet southern hospitality.
Excellent job. Great food. Nice folks. Is it the best BBQ in town? That’s a touchy subject, no doubt, because so much of it comes down to personal preference. But as a dining experience, Lucy Dee’s is a five star establishment.

Tasty BBQ! We all left fat and happy! We had the brisket, pulled pork and chicken. All the meats were smoked to perfection and moist. We had the Mac and cheese and potato salad. I thought the Mac and cheese could have more of a cheese flavor. It was creamy but was bland. The potato salad was good, it was a mustard style that was very flavorful and tangy. The beans left me wanting more! So full of flavor. The baked potato was small. The mini corn muffins were too dry for my liking. The bread pudding was the perfect finish to our meal. Great customer service!

The paradigm of a great BBQ place. We both had the Sloppy Sheldon brisket sandwich. Brisket was nice and juicy and the sandwich was plenty loaded. Get it with the tasty cole slaw which chunk cut instead of shredded.
State 48 is located a few blocks from downtown Prescott so you can enjoy great meal without all the busy-ness. We will be back.

What a darling place! Fast and easy to order, with great sit-down vibes make this almost hidden gem a “must” go-to place. We found this restaurant by accident, and what a fabulous find. The staff behind the counter were knowledgeable, and friendly, with great suggestions. The sausage and brisket were killer good: rich in flavor and tender. Each side was tasty and fresh, too. Holy green beans- who knew they could be so tasty? The coleslaw and beans were scrumptious and a perfect pairing. The only downfall was that the chicken was quite dry, even with the sauce on it. I’m sure it was a fluke considering the other food was quite tasty and satisfying. Gluten-free sauce(and food items labeled!) if you need that, and other dipping sauce as well sit on the table ready for you to dig in. The ambiance was quaint and the tables comfy. Perfect for a nice meal.
Don’t forget that sweet tea!

First time at State 49 today, as we are new to Prescott. We were warmly welcomed and got a helpful explanation of the menu and how to order. There were 3 of us and we each ordered something different. It was all amazing! Meatloaf tasted home made. Apple sauce tasted like my grandma’s. Tart and crunchy coleslaw. Meat fell off the ribs. Variety of delicious sauces. Mashed potatoes and gravy were rich and flavorful and homey. We left STUFFED and happy. Will definitely be back. Soon!

If you haven’t eaten here. You are missing out. I have traveled the united states and eaten my fair share of BBQ. State 48 is one of my top picks. In the state of Arizona it is my top choice. The ribs and tri tip are amazing.
