This is by far the best Chinese food I’ve had in years! All the ingredients are fresh and the flavor is perfection! The food comes out piping hot and is absolutely delicious!! I’m really sad that the owner spends her days here alone, I really don’t want this gem of an eatery to disappear and close. Whoever sees this, please help her save her business and go get some amazing cuisine!

This restaurant has quick service, is well priced, and is consistently delicious. The owners are friendly. The indoor dinning area is very small. I have only ever gotten take out from Foo Yen. I have had there food many times and have never had a bad experience.

Ordered a meal from them which was missing sauce. Tried to explain the situation to the owner today and she was very condescending and rude. Would not admit the mistake even when we showed her the uneaten food with no sauce.
They offered to comp part of our next meal. When we ordered our next meal they charged us an extra $10 even when they said they took off an entree as a mistake. To top it all off, when we got home we noticed part of our meal was missing….
So in two experiences eating there they have messed up both orders, charged us $10 extra, and was very rude to us when we brought it up to them.
Id highly recommend going to Gaslight Kitchen or one of the other Asian restaurants nearby instead.

Our office ordered as a group. When we originally called we told them we had 7 orders to place (our office always orders as a group) the women who took the orders were very rude. Upon getting our food back to our workplace the meat were all over cooked, dry, and hard. Every single egg roll we got were all burnt and too hard to eat. You would think a place would appreciate our business but I guess not. We will not be ordering again from them and will tell all of our co-workers and others not to as well. Money wasted on food we can’t even eat because it’s too hard. Lesson learned I guess.

Have only ordered here twice. First time was good that I ordered again. Second time I had two strands of hair in my orange Chicken. Now, did I finish My takeout after finding the strands, yes, but I was really hungry. So not sure what to make of it. Its bad there were strands but good enough that I overlooked it and actually finished my meal. Would I go here again? Probably.

THEY DO NOT PROPORTION THEIR MEALS CORRECTLY TO SAVE THEMSELVES MONEY. If you order two meals at once (food and rice) you will pay for 2 boxes of rice and only receive one. If you order from the regular menu during lunchtime hours they will give you a student lunch deal which is only a quarter of the food. Order that same meal past 4:30pm and you will get a ton more food for the same price. They need set proportions so they will stop scamming people to save money. I have ate here for 10+ years and there has never been any stable quality, the food is either great and plentiful or absolute trash and skimpy proportions.

Hands down our favorite Chinese restaurant in Grand Rapids. Not positive why foo yen doesn’t have a 5 star rating. Each time we go, it seems to always get better! Super nice people and amazing food! Highly recommed.

Their egg rolls and sweet/sour sauce are the best in town – I buy a dozen at a time and they are gone within hours due to our three ravenous teenagers. Also, the owner is great, she remembers me every time I stop in.

just left got there at 8:15 told us it was too late to dine on had to carry out. Door and website says 9:30pm. We decide to get carry out they told us they were out of all their soups! Offer nothing else we walked out! Close the doors and change your hours, dont waste your time. We were the only ones in the place they could have used our business, all the other restaurants in the area were packed, should have been our first clue to RUN.
