I ordered the Kung Pao chicken.

The chicken itself was good, and the sauce was great. It was pretty clear the chicken had been cooked separately earlier, then brought together in the wok at the end.

Unfortunately, the vegetables (green onion chunks, regular onions, green peppers, and watercress) were undercooked. They didn’t spend enough time in the wok before being served, so it ended up feeling like Kung Pao chicken with almost raw vegetables.

Still good overall, but not quite five-star.

My friend ordered the orange chicken and really enjoyed it. He said everything about it was spot-on.

Service was polite, but not very attentive. Our waiter was courteous when he first helped us, but once the food arrived, he didn’t check on us at all until the very end of the meal. In a small restaurant like this, it would’ve been nice to be checked on during the meal in case we needed anything.

Upon entering this Chinese restaurant, I found it quite crowded, though most were there to pick up takeout orders. The restaurant offers dine-in, but seating is limited. The environment is reasonably clean, but not particularly pleasant. Lunch options are plentiful, while dinner is slightly more expensive. The sweet shrimp was sweet and very springy, the beef soup was delicious, and the char siu (BBQ Pork) fried noodles weren’t too oily, had a slightly sweet flavor, and tasted good. However, the lamb brisket stew was just average and not recommended. While the food quality was good, the wait times were excessively long. We waited a full hour for our food to arrive, during which time many people came to pick up their takeout, and the staff were clearly overwhelmed. While I understand they are busy, making customers sit and wait for so long is undesirable. I hope this can be improved in the future.

First thing I will say is that the BEST Orange Chicken I have ever eaten, is made here (definitely coming back just for this). Think chicken first, then breading…so you are actually getting served more whole chicken rather than mainly, thick breading/fried fat and sauce. The sauce is plentiful, the flavor is excellent.

The shrimp and veggies is very tasty as well.. The shrimp, pork and mushroom Siu Mai (an appetizer) was my second favorite. We also ordered hot and sour soup (which was pretty good). What I thought was pretty cool is They bring you tea and water first thing upon being seated.

Reason for a 4 star is simply due to customer service. They never really table touched, but it was extremely busy so it is semi understandable. Also, our appetizers came after the main dishes.

From the first bite, I thought “Wow this is just like Chinese food used to taste like!” I had the Kung Pao Chicken. It had that classic flavor that many Chinese restaurants seem to no longer have. I was greeted with a smile, served a complementary pot of tea to start with, and the meal came out quickly and cooked perfectly. I was really quite happy with my meal here.

I have ordering food & eating food here since I moved to LA. The food is great BUT….the worst customer service I have ever experienced in a restaurant. I had a carryout Sunday. They forgot to give me my egg roll order. I called when I got home and they said a manager would call back. It’s Tuesday, I have called them 11 times simply for a $7.50 credit. Their mailbox is full 24/7 so no messages can be left. Their answering service is very nice but obviously has no success getting in touch with the restaurant management either. For this reason I will not recommend this place. Customer service is important in the service industry!

Our date night at Moon House Chinese Restaurant turned into a disaster because of the male server (the one in the photo). We didn’t understand part of the menu, so I politely asked about the roasted duck. Instead of helping, he actually took out his pen, scratched on the menu, and yelled at us like we were bothering him.

A Must‑Visit Spot for Authentic Chinese Comfort Food!
I’ve been to many Chinese restaurants, but this place truly stands out. Their orange chicken is to‑die‑for—crispy, perfectly glazed, and bursting with that sweet‑tangy flavor that keeps you coming back for more. The green beans are equally impressive: fresh, crisp, and tossed in a savory sauce that balances the dish beautifully.
Beyond the food, the staff deserve a shout‑out. Everyone is friendly, attentive, and genuinely enthusiastic about delivering a great dining experience. You can tell they take pride in their work, which adds an extra layer of warmth to the already inviting atmosphere.
The vibe feels authentically Chinese, from the subtle décor touches to the background music that transports you straight to a bustling street market. It’s the perfect blend of comfort and authenticity, making it an ideal spot for both quick lunches and relaxed dinner gatherings.
If you’re craving top‑notch Chinese cuisine with stellar service and an authentic ambiance, look no further—this restaurant is the real deal!

Reliable neighborhood Chinese/Cantonese restaurant. The type that is open probably 365 days a year. Whenever I’m feeling unwell, my goto is ordering porridge, some greens dish, and a noodle with protein.

They’re always pretty consistent and order is ready why I pick up. They wont win any awards, but I’m glad they operate in the neighborhood after all these years

Very good authentic Chinese food for the Westside. No, you can’t compare with w Monterey Park, San Gabriel, but for the Westside, it’s legit.

The 4 of us ordered Moo Shu pork (not pictured (it was devoured before I could take a pic), string beans, salty-spicy pork chop, shrimp fried rice and chicken chow mein (crispy noodles.) All yummy.

Good luck with parking during lunchtime. You may have to park on the nearby neighborhood streets.
