Great service and the food came out quickly.
Tropical Margarita’s were perfect for the heat.
We shared a lot of different dishes, loved everything besides the Coliflor Fundido.
Definitely make reservations.
The food was exceptional. Every dish carried depth, balance, and intention. Honoring tradition while feeling fresh and expressive. You can taste the care in every bite.
Beyond the incredible flavors, what stood out the most was the feeling of community and authenticity. Chulita isn’t just a place to eat, it’s an experience that celebrates culture, artistry, and connection.
I will absolutely be back!!
Just an FYI, the chulita bowl is more of a salad, and the avocado salsa is mixed inside. The menu description made us a bit confused… but overall, I would come back and try out other stuff. The barbacoa was very juicy and flavorful.
The food was absolutely amazing and I loved that there were so many good vegan options.
The staff were warm, friendly, and incredibly patient. We had a few custom requests (like no tomatoes or onions for my daughter), and everything came out perfectly. The guacamole was super fresh, and the tacos were flavorful without being heavy. I ordered the cauliflower taco with a cassava tortilla, and it was seasoned beautifully—clean, filling, and so satisfying. They also offer blue corn tortillas, which were just as good.
My husband tried one of the brunch dishes and loved it, and my daughter enjoyed the vegan nachos. We also shared a spicy mezcal margarita—it was bold, well-balanced, and memorable. Mezcal is clearly their thing, and they do it well.
Despite being listed in the Michelin Guide and located in trendy Venice, the pricing felt fair and the portions generous. It’s casual, breezy, bright, and definitely on our list for a return visit.
Vegetarian options are plentiful here—this is a true gem for plant-based diners. Just plan a little extra time for parking (this is Venice, after all)—we got lucky with a spot right across the street.
Chulitas makes their own GF Cassava Flour tortillas that were soft, pliable and have the same chew and char as a fresh flour tortilla. They have organic blue corn tortillas as well as tostadas that are baked for “chips” with their house salsa.
They made me a virgin spicy margarita that was the right amount of tangy heat.
I ordered a Barbacoa taco on the cassava flour tortilla and a Fish taco on a cassava tortilla. They were nice sized and had tons of protein in each one. The barbacoa was unctuous and spicy with a nice crunch from the fresh veg and radish. The fish was firm, flaky, and perfectly cooled with a citrus slaw. I ordered a side of Spanish rice. It was creamy it all the right ways and subtly spiced.
The table ordered the two dessert options to share, GF Pumpkin Spiced Churros with a vegan caramel and a vegan chocolate mousse with almond crumble. Both had good texture. The mousse also had a raspberry coulis that was tart and balanced rhe creamy chocolate. The Churros were crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside. The caramel was a little watery so we dipped out churros in the chocolate mousse.
Overall, EXCELLENT food and service
