I lived in Rapid City for a number of years now, but have never been to Pancheros until a few days ago. It’s like a Chipotle or Qdoba, but better! I got the chicken quesadilla and some chips and queso, while my dining companion had a burrito. I thought the queso is some of the best I’ve ever had. I like that they serve blue chips instead I’d standard tortilla chips. The burrito was large, so be sure to be hungry when you come here. There is also not a drive-thru, so this may not be the best decision if you are in a hurry. When I was there, it wasn’t too busy, so it was a great time to chat with my dining companion. There is outdoor seating too. Looking forward to my next visit!

The food was good, but my experience with the manager, Cale, was completely unacceptable.
I accidentally selected the wrong card while using Apple Pay. Instead of handling the situation discreetly and professionally, Cale loudly announced in front of other customers that my card had declined five times. This was humiliating and unnecessary. He then stated that I needed to “sort that out first,” as if I wasn’t already aware of what had happened. I was embarrassed, disrespected, and felt unwelcome, so I chose not to stay and eat.
After leaving, I called the restaurant to request a corporate contact or manager’s number to make a formal complaint. Cale was the one who called me back. During the call, he repeatedly talked over me, said “I can’t hear you” three times while I was speaking, and then hung up on me. When I called back and asked for the corporate number, he hung up again.
I am a Native American woman who came in expecting a welcoming, respectful dining experience. Instead, I was publicly embarrassed and dismissed. My card declined because I accidentally used a different card—not because I was unable to pay—and I was never given the opportunity to simply use another card before being publicly called out.
This situation could have been handled with basic courtesy and professionalism. Instead, it left me upset and extremely disappointed.

A very good place for some delicious modern Mexican food.
This place is very similar to Chipotle or a Qdoba but just that its more local. I loved it more than Qdoba and just as much as Chipotle.

The best part is that they make fresh Tortillas for their Burritos! The fresh Tortillas taste much better and goes very well with the toppings. Their Guacamole is also very good.

My personal favorite thing about this restaurant is that they have Tofu for people who do not eat meat! This is very rare and a very good addition to the menu. Something which more such restaurants should offer. Highly recommended!

Ordered online and as you can see, this was very disappointing. It was so small I had to open it up because I thought it was just a half but it really was just that small. I wouldn’t even mind if it tasted like human food but the meat was chewy and hard and had a strange flavor like canned dogfood smells. The cheese reminded me of cold pizza cheese from a bad delivery place, more like rubber than a cheese. I had high hopes based on the reviews but it looks like the good reviews fit the name of the place…Panchero means someone who is distrustful, exaggerates also means someone who sells panchos which are …hotdogs….hotdogs would have been better.

1) chips are store bought. Normally, a burrito place like this would make their own chips
2) burrito was runny and lacked taste. Basically, their food is soaked in water and saturates any taste as well as the actual food
3) queso sauce was basically water w/ spritz of cheese thrown into it. Not worth the extra $2 for that addition.
4) messed up order

This is basically like Chipotle but not as good in my opinion. It was pretty good though. My kids loved the tacos. I got a salad, the lettuce is just shredded iceberg, nothing special. I do like that they have tofu as an option, it was pretty good, a tad salty and it had some spice. The guac was okay but the fajita veggies were good. Also, apparently they give chips with a bowl but you have to know to ask, which is odd. Overall okay, but I’d rather go to Qdoba or Chipotle.

Take Chipotle or Salsarita’s and you’ve got Panchero’s. The food was mostly fresh (the chicken was a bit dry but that’s par for the course most of the time) – and the staff did a nice job of preparing the plates and getting us through the line. They cut us a break on the kids’ meals since we really had no idea how to order, ha, so that was a pleasant surprise. I recommend the nacho bowl with extra queso and sour cream!

This place has decent food but subpar service. They are constantly under staffed, at least the days I come in. Otherwise the food is good. I like their tortillas.
