If you are looking for great Hamburgers.
I’d suggest you try The Counter.
First: Easy to park, Ocean Park Courtyard has surface parking and underground parking, so no stress.
Second: Awesome service, usually happy servers. Last time I went Timothy was our server and he did very good.
Third: Hamburgers are massive.
I ordered the Jalapeño Burger, and my gf customized hers. Check out the photos.
If you have not decided yet what to eat today. Just go here and relax. LOL.

My favorite place for a burger and shake in SM. Love the BYO burger options, and the bun and meat are delicious. But what really stands out are the customized milkshakes. I am a huge ice cream person, and these are genuinely some of the best milkshakes I’ve ever had. I try new combos every time because they’re all so yummy. Seriously, do yourself a favor and try one.

I had been to The Counter once before years ago. I went back last Friday and was happy to find the same delicious food, fantastic atmosphere and excellent service. I like the build your own burger. I ordered a bison cheese burger with mixed greens and permesan fries. Everything here at The Counter is as great as it ever was. Just know if you go you will definitely be going here again.

Hit this place up for dinner a few times during my Santa Monica stay. I know they’re know for their burgers but I’m a pretty light eater so I can say the salads were big and delicious! The staff is friendly and attentive! A solid choice!

I have enjoyed the SM Counter burgers for many years, but tonight’s was the absolutely worst hamburger I’ve ever eaten. I asked for “well done” (menu said it would have slight pink running through it) and, instead, it was like eating a rubberized piece of cardboard smothered with onions and mushrooms. If it hadn’t cost $27 (including the tip), I wouldn’t be complaining… but it was disgustingly disappointing.

I wanted a really good burger so we decided to give this spot a try. I wanted the Juicy Lucy but they don’t serve that one here so my hubby brought back a different (the cheese wasn’t melted inside but whatever) also brought back and order of their garlic parm fries (even a lil warm they were still excellent) my hubby tried their old school cheeseburger along with their beef chili. When I tell you when he took the top off the chili you could smell the seasoning (almost too salty) but good none the less. Their burgers were fine nothing to scream about but good. I was can try again. (Only reason for the three star rating was i wasn’t the one picking up the food)

My favorite is the turkey chili with cranberries. Sweet and spicy taste. Yes, the burgers are good also.
Atmosphere: fewer tables indoors with wide-open windows. You feel very comfortable with the airflow. Outdoor seating is nice as well. The staff is very friendly!
