We had not much of a wait at dinner time. The broth is very very good for their soups. In traditional fashion the meat portion is tasty but small. They were nice and hospitable.the soft shell crab was very good. The pricing was a bit up there for what we think we got.

It’s a nice restaurant at the end of the village in Little Tokyo. It’s a lot bigger on the inside than it seems. We went on a very busy day for lunch, when I signed in to the waitlist, we were about 10th on the list, but wait less than 30 mins. Parking is all over the place in Little Tokyo, but it’s as expected, though they do 2hr validation if you parked in the village.

Oomasa has a good mix of Japanese dishes for everyone at a variety of price points, generally on the higher end though. I enjoyed their bento boxes. There’s a variety of them to choose from and they’re well balanced. All come with rice and miso soup. Portions themselves, like most Japanese restaurants are on the smaller side, but it’s enough to fill you up.

We got the ika geso age since it’s normally one of our favorites appetizers at a Japanese restaurant. Crispy and well seasoned. I wish there was more of it. You don’t even need to use the accompanying chipotle mayo sauce, but it’s a welcomed addition

We got the chicken teriyaki and sashimi bento as well as the oomasa special bento box. I really enjoyed their sashimi, all the fish was portioned well, fresh, and delicious.

The teriyaki was a low point. It wasn’t bad by any means, but I wanted it to be crispier. I would recommend getting sauce on the side since it’s heavily layered in it.

Green tea is from a can, not housemade. Beer is on draft.

Service is excellent. Staff is friendly and helpful. They’ll check on you at appropriate times. Service was fast, we didn’t have to wait long for anything.

Great place if you like sushi. The sushi is really fresh. The toro melts in your mouth. The Bento box was average, the potatoes were a weird addition to the bento box and the tonkatsu was okay. The place is a little small so it may be hard to get setting as well, but went a little after peak lunch time and got a table no problem. I thought this place may be noisy with its location, but was pleasantly surprised as it was pretty quiet inside and easy to have a conversation.

Located in busy Tokyo Village, Los Angeles. This is a great traditional Japanese restaurant, featuring fresh cuts of sashimi and sushi. Wonderful assortment of teishoku menu items, such as the combination tempura and sashimi for $23.50. I highly recommend their chirashi sushi/. Fresh cuts of sashimi over sushi rice with tamago. The nabeyaki udon was also delicious.

Had lunch here with my sister a few weeks ago, first time in Little Tokyo and we loved it. Polite and attentive servers, clean and relaxing environment and food was good! We ordered the chicken Karaage which was delicious and we got 2 plates of sushi that were tasty and filling. This restaurant has my recommendation

Wonderful! We visited on a Saturday evening. We only waited around 20 minutes. The staff were very quick and friendly. I ordered a salmon teriyaki plate, my sister a tonkatsu plate. Portions were a lot bigger than expected!! The salmon was thick, juicy, and cooked to perfection. The teriyaki sauce was not too sweet nor salty.

We will definitely be going back!

Came here during a Pokemon event (Kalos 2026). Party of 6, they sat us in less than 5 mins. Food was excellent and came out very fast as well. Will come back here again. Generous portions, too!

Their Bento boxes are nice and the service is good. They could improve and increase the amount of food they serve in each box though…. just a suggestion. The place is in a good location within Little Tokyo.

Hideen little gem in little Tokio with amazing food and staff, shout out to Claudio for making sure our big order was perfectly executed and tasted fresh and made specially just for us. The prices are fair, and the fish is a super fresh tasting pair that is upheld with a clean and comfortable restaurant feel.
I definitely recommend you guys try them out!
