Oh my god! BEST VEGAN BAHN MI IN PDX!!!! I can confirm. This is the place to get a vegan bahn mi. The restaurant feels like eating in someone’s home and it’s so welcoming. Not only that, but it’s CHEAP! But like in a really good way. For god’s sake, if you’re a vegan or vegetarian in Portland, get your bahn mi here!

I stopped in here with a friend yesterday and was so impressed! The man in the cart was extremely friendly, and even gave us free oolong tea and a savory sticky-rice appetizer wrapped in a banana leaf (I think!) The banh mi I ordered was huge for $6! He also gave me a sample of their delicious vegan ham, which he said is made fresh daily on-site. He confirmed to me that the cart is now (recently) all vegan! He also had been closed for the previous three days because he was setting up/remodeling the lovely covered seating area. The entire experience was wonderful, and I highly recommend this place!

The owner/server was nice, but the food prep took a long time. We had 7 people and we all ordered the combo banhmi but it took over 1.5 hours to get our food out to us. I noticed 2 other customers waited a long time as well. Low rating due to long wait times and also ants were crawling on paper towels and tables.

The best vegan bahn mi in Portland! The person who runs the restaurant is the nicest person ever. I usually get the tofu bahn mi and egg rolls, and both are delicious. I also love the vegan chicken, and the iced tea with coconut milk. I liked the salad rolls too, but they were a little heavy on the basil. Thank you!

amazing banh mi! really probably the best we’ve ever had, the baguette is perfectly light and crispy in the best way, the bbq pork is my favorite, the sauce is perfectly sweet and savory, and usually the jalapenos are large and super fresh. amazing!
the inside is also very cute, it looks like it used to be a preschool or something, and there’s a beautiful Buddhist temple next door. a weekly dining spot, at least!
