We have been to Highway 55 in Lenoir NC 3 times now. All 3 times were great experiences. We dined I the first time, waitresses were so very nice and friendly and helpful. The other 2 times we dined outside. We took our little fur baby (very well trained)and he sat in a chair beside of us and was on his best behavior. The wait staff brought him a bowl of water and was so nice to all of us. The food was great. Hot and fresh. Great job guys at Highway 55 in Lenoir Nc

When I tell you this place is the most respectful customer service there is in Lenoir. Top notch service and the quality of the food. Everything fresh. The best cheese steak I’ve had in 30 years!!! The cashier came back and said she owed me money!!?? Apparently the cheese steak was on a deal on Thursdays. Most folk would of just left it, she didn’t!!! I’ll definitely be back!!!

If you judge the place solely on kindness, they get five stars. But that is not the only metric you judge by. I went to this restaurant to get a special meal for my elderly parent. When I went to the drive thru, there was no prices that I could find for one item. So I just ordered two burgers and two sides, this is when I get told it was 22 dollars, but again, a treat and the images of the food looks premium. So i drive 15 minutes to my parents house, and sit down to eat with them to find the meat on the burgers were cold/cool and far from what they display, think greasy spoon diner burger. The sides were hot though. I called in, they said sorry and that they wanted to make it right with a replacement meal. So I go in the next week to get it, do the same thing. This time the burgers are hot, but still that greasy spoon sloppy. But this time, the sides are cool. Not warm, not room temperature, cool. So for this price, flavor, and quality, I would rather go to a fast food restaurant that starts with W.

The food is delicious. The shakes are amazing too. It is a nice atmosphere with friendly staff. We enjoyed the robot that comes out to serve your food. The prices are great and the portions are large. Will definitely return.

I used to rave about this place! We went for kids night like usual. The waitress was kind at first until I asked questions. For dietary reasons every place now allows adults to get a kids meal for an additional price no biggie. I ordered an adult meal of course for my companion and then the three kids meals for myself and the kiddos. She brought out the adult version with all these condiments I didn’t ask for. I asked her what it was and she said the lil shrimp burger. I said no I ordered two kids lil shrimp burgers they don’t have toppings. So she took the plate with a huff and then the attitude started. You don’t argue with the customer that’s bad service. Ok well this was my birthday treat night too. So we order the kids free ice cream. Well I ask what dessert is included with the birthday voucher. She said she didn’t know. Ok so I said can you ask so I know what to order. Again attitude. Fine whatever I get the check she didn’t fix the charges I get charged 3 dollars more for the wrong ticket item considering she brought the kids one out. This place has gone down hill so fast. They can’t keep staff and the ones they have now are nothing compared to when they started. They need a workshop on proper customer service. I’m never rude but this isn’t the first time the staff has been rude at this location. If management cares I’ll be glad to give the name of our last server (do reach out).

Updated review: after a not so good experience several months ago we decided to try Hwy55 again dining in. This time food was prepared correctly, concretes and milkshakes were great. Be sure to remind them to add your whipped cream to your concretes and shakes. Service can be slow. If you go close to closing time like an hour or two before service is even slower.

This location operates like a well oiled machine. It was so refreshing to see everyone working as a team. Everyone was so friendly, and the food was delicious. We never experienced this atmosphere at our local Hwy 55. Can’t wait to come back the next time we travel through the area.

I loved this place, our waitress had a great attitude and checked on us all the time. The onion rings were to die for and the shakes were amazing. Our food was brought out by Judy the Robot which we got a kick out of. Definitely stop by and get your food in a classic car box, they’re really cute.
