Washed it all down with a Tall Glass of Iced Tea adorned with some Lemon Wedges, before deciding to indulge in Their Pumpkin Cheesecake which was nothing short of Amazing!!!
Food, Service, & Atmosphere..?, all Spectacular! If Their are any Restaurants that exist up and down the Banks of the Mighty Mississippi that are more deserving of Your Patronage than the Candlelight Inn..?!, I have yet to experience Them!!!

Good meal. Salad was very fresh. Had the chicken George. I mean that’s what they are known for so, when in Rome…It is basically chicken strips with a vinegar based sauce. The chicken was lightly breaded and juicy. It was cooked perfectly. I really liked the sauce. I didn’t think I would, but it had a nice flavor. Had mashed potatoes as a side (I mean I had a salad so I earned the potatoes ) they were good, gravy was very peppery. If you have a chance, stop in, no regrets.

Very good chicken at this location! Unfortunately, extremely expensive. The dipping sauce is the best thing about it! I would recommend this restaurant if you have the money but be prepared to spend around $15 per person for just the chicken. It’s worth the try.

Grabbed a pound of the famous “Chicken George” while on the way to the Quad Cities. Very lightly breaded chicken tenders with several interesting sauce options. Well worth going out of your way for! The interior of the restaurant is adorable and historic with that great Illinois down home friendly service!

Best place I’ve found in the area. Amazing food, great service, and a friendly staff ensured I will be making a trip back to this place. I ordered the fried Cod and it was delicious. The staff was aware I wasn’t a local and that it was my first time there. Knowing that, one of them insisted I try the Chicken George, then brought me 2 pieces for free!

So my son and I decided to go out to Candlelight and grab us some famous Chicken George. From the moment we entered we were greeted with a smile, and a warm welcoming. We then were seated and had the friendliest and sweetest waitress, Desi. She greeted us with a warm smile, and made us feel at home. We ordered and as I was a little confused about what to get and the menu, she was patient and went over it with me and gave me some good suggestions! She went above and beyond and was sure a treat! She always made sure my son’s drink was full and our food was hot, delicious and we did not wait long at all on our food. All around amazing service and I love this Candlelight by far better than any others. Desi made sure we were taking care off and is so good at her job. Soft spoken, sweet, and so good. She makes you feel like you are not just another table but you are family. I will be back because that was THE BEST SERVICE ever! Thank you to the amazing staff at Candlelight and thank you so MUCH to DESI the best waitress I have ever come across! She deserves a raise and a HUGE PRAISE!

My elderly parents wanted to have an early dinner so we arrived at 3pm. Despite the restaurant being fairly empttook quite a while for the food to arrive.
The menu advertises gluten “friendly”. Three of us need gluten free food and unfortunately one of our plates was contaminated with gravy. We had to wait for them to prepare another dinner which took forever.
Another family member ordered “medium” steak but it was pretty much well done. They offered to make a new one but we were already waiting for the replacement of the contaminated food.
Maybe if it wasn’t so expensive all these issues would be inconsequential. All I know is, I won’t go back. There are better dining establishments in town.
