Update: new location, just few steps from where it used to be. Bigger restaurant with larger capacity. The food is just as delicious and the service as friendly as always and even faster. Will keep coming back!
I have not been to many sushi places in Cologne yet, but i have a strong feeling that this will be my favourite.
The restaurant is small with limited tables so you have to make sure to get a reservation, specially on weekends. It is clean and with a cozy atmosphere.
The food: the best tempura i have had. The batter was perfect. The rolls were all well executed, with a good balance of rice and fillings. The dessert which was a mango mousse was very original and delicious. The presentation of the food was simple but really appealing. I definitely would recommend the volcano rolls and the dragon ones i believe. It also has a good selection of drinks.
Service: greeted by a warm welcome, you are served a hotel towel once you are seated and the service is just fast and friendly. No complaint.
However if you choose to go, check the menu as this place is upscale; yet really worth it.

Visited Zen with my big family, 9 people in total. Our waiter took our order seriously and very friendly. We asked for kids first to be served and so he took kids order and came shortly after. Their Ebi Tempura rolls (10 pcs) is highly recommended! Sure thing we’ll get back whenever we visit Bonn again

Some of the best sushi I’ve had outside Japan. The staff are all Japanese, generally a good sign. But the chef’s technique was so good! Creative stuff too, such as yuzu chili paste to accompany wasabi.

Sushi is a craft, a craft that requires pristine precision and passion. When I ordered the Tuna nigiri I knew I would be impressed by the beautiful array of flavours but they really knocked it out the park here. Nobu could never compare to the masterfully assembled tuna nigiri of Zen sushi…. much love ❤️

I cant believe this place is recommended on Michelin. Honestly I dont know if the german standards os sushi are these bad or its just the restaurant! Ordered the 10 sushi plate and none of them were good! You need to beg the waiter to come! Place is nice but definitely a bad experience
