Stopped in for a quick bite on a weeknight. Crown and Anchor is the definition of cozy.

I can imagine during football matches it gets pretty wild, but on this evening there were a handful of people, families, older gents, all just having a nice meal.

I only tried the Toad in a Hole, but it was exactly what it should have been. Simple, rich, filling, comforting. The rest of the menu, particularly the traditional English fare, looked excellent as well and I look forward to returning.

The staff were very friendly, and the interior was warm and inviting, featuring leather booths and dense wall decor.

Overall, a fantastic spot to grab a pint and some food that doesn’t pretend to be anything it’s not and absolutely hits the spot.

The food was amazing! My friend had Bangers and Mash, which is sausage balls, and and a hard-boiled egg. It was really good, very tasty. We both had Fish & Chips. The pieces of fish are very large and fulfilling. The fries were ok. I had asked for mine to be “crispy”, but they weren’t. The fish came with house-made tartar sauce. 2 Giant Coke Cola glasses filled with iced tea. I also had a Bavarian Pretzel with spicy cheese. It was very good. There was tons of food, for great price points. We did not have room for dessert. We will have to go back. The dinning area was homey and comfy. Big booths, and tables. There was an outside seating area, and a bar. Free parking. The restroom was a little dated looking, and clean, very suitable. The staff were friendly, and extremely helpful. I gave the food 4 stars because the fries were not to our liking, otherwise I would have given 5 stars. The service definitely rated 5 stars.
They have a full bar, not just beer and wine. We didn’t see any patrons with young children, and we did not notice if there were high chairs for little people. You may want to call the restaurant if you are thinking of bringing young children. If you like British food, this is the place to come. You’ll be happy to eat here at the Crown and Anchor.

Had higher expectations from this place ngl. Food was mid. The sausage was dead on but everything else was not as I’ve been to England 2 times and stayed there a total of 5-6 months this was not accurate specially the English bacon was literally flavorless pork chop basically my English husband said the fish & chips was eh. So that’s the situation I think they can do way better I have their little patio section but that’s about it.

We had a nice family dinner and they took us with a reservation of 8, no problem. The food was delicious, their pretzels and queso was amazing! They have a nice draft selection. They are a restaurant and a pub, two separate entrances. Great place to catch a game and eat with friends and family!

Great spot to grab some British grub – huge menu of options, not all of which are British so should suit everyone. Service was excellent, and a fun interior too. Our group had toad in the hole, banger sandwich, Cobb salad, fish and chips, bangers and mash – all were tasty!

Excellent British food and amazing drinks served by a friendly, professional staff in pleasant surroundings. What more could you ask for! My son says the Crown and Anchor is his new favorite restaurant, and I tend to agree with him;)

I had the Shepard’s Pie on my first visit, which I really enjoyed. However, I especially enjoyed the Toad in the Hole I had the following weekend even more. The Bloody Mary they make is second to none, and always gets the weekend off to a great start!

UPDATE: I have had the Full English Breakfast my last few visits. It is exceptional!

Thanks Crown and Anchor!

I wanted a English breakfast or as close as I could find that LA offers and after some Googling I decided that Crown and Anchor was my best shot since they offer an all day Brittish Breakfast as part of their regular menu.

The eggs were cooked perfectly, the banger was tasty, the back bacon and beans were tasty and had a grilled tomato. There was a toast as well.

My mom is a big fan of sausage rolls so I gave that a try too and was very impressed with them. Great, flaky crust and sausage.

They have a nice, outdoor patio under a big tree. Overall a great place to have breakfast foods for a tasty lunch.

As one with an English heritage, I’ve had an enjoyable experience dining at several locations in and near San Fernando Valley. To discover the Crown & Anchor was to finally be satisfied with the fact that a favourite dish: toad in the hole, was available on the menu. It’s been years since tasting good Yorkshire pudding with bangers in a hot onion gravy sauce, and the results were most satisfying, taking me back to the U.K., among other fine English fare that my two companions thoroughly enjoyed, as well. Good form to include the English breakfast available all day, with the obligatory beans on toast, among other simple fare, while the bangers & mash always appealed well for its simplistic, but very satisfying results. Our servers were gracious and prompt about the service provided, and thorough in maintaining safety and health regulations per pandemic circumstances, but the establishment offered plenty of seating, both indoor and outdoors, with proper safety guidelines followed by everyone. The interior itself is a beauty unto the British scene with wonderful seating arranged in half-circled booths of vinyl-like upholstery that provide space for 4-5 persons, with a quieter, large chamber, and the pub to another room with plenty of sports monitors for those who enjoyed a noisier social scene, and an open expanse outside, with a tented arrangement for when crowds become too large. All in all, the Crown & Anchor has done well to provide a pleasant experience in food, decor, and general service. I wish it the best of success and prosperity, with thanks to the staff who provided for us, and satisfaction for everyone who dines at this beautiful British establishment. Thank you.
