One time, an elderly customer stood up looking for napkins. The staff immediately noticed and pointed to where the napkins were. All in all, the food AND the people there are great. This is now one of my favorite places in Newark!
After wasting over $15 trying to get a proper cappuccino somewhere else—where I literally had to explain to the staff how to make one—I found PJ’s Coffee, and it was a breath of fresh air.
No explanations, no drama. I ordered a cappuccino, and I got a real cappuccino: well-pulled espresso, milk at the right temperature, and a proper creamy foam on top. Just like it should be.
Places like Pão Da Terra should take notes. A cappuccino isn’t just hot milk with weird foam. Want to know what a real one looks like? I can send you a photo of this one.
Props to PJ’s Coffee for doing the basics right: quality, skill, and great service.
Great hot chocolate too.
Zero street parking allowed, paid lot around the corner.
Just across the street, to the east on Center Street.
We had coffee, iced tea, sandwiches and beignets.
It took a while to heat the pre-packaged sandwiches, but they were very good.
The Beignets also took time to prepare, but they were fresh and authentic.
They offered me to read/borrow any books without restrictions.
“Newark deserves something like that”.
Please keep up the good work..
