A really delicious restaurant tucked in the corner of Delaware. We knew it’d be good when we saw a line out the door. Ordered two simple dishes, and both were fantastic. Even the complimentary initial bread was some of the best bread we’ve even had. The waitresses were also some of the kindest we’ve ever had.

I ordered a huge catering order for my daughter’s bridal shower this past weekend. The food was amazing! All of the guests kept asking where I ordered the food from. Being from an Italian family we always compare food to ours and this was the closest to our family recipe and we loved everything we ordered.

Cafe Sitaly is a cozy neighborhood Italian restaurant that has some great food and feels like a small-family owned place. Located on the corner of Naamans and Marsh, it’s right at the intersection next to a couple other businesses. As mentioned, this is a small, cozy restaurant so you might accidentally miss it. Don’t let that deter you though as this is a great place to eat.
The restaurant is pretty small with just several tables for service but when I went on a Friday night it wasn’t that crowded. There’s a counter up front with pizza ready to go or be warmed up for service as well. This makes the atmosphere feel very much like a family restaurant and just as snug.
Cafe Sitaly’s menu is pretty much what you’d expect for an Italian restaurant with its different entrees, pastas, pizzas, etc. However the price is very good and the portions are generous for the price making this generally good value for your money.
The service is also very attentive, with the waitstaff ensuring that you’re taken care of and ensuring that your order is right. I also find them very personable and can answer questions you have about the menu and its offerings.
For my meal there, I had the manicotti which is one of my favorite meatless dishes and also one many Italian places don’t seem to serve. The manicotti comes with a salad and the one I got was nice and fresh and had plenty of veggies included. The bread that is served is a wedge rather than rolls or breadsticks. Despite the unusual shape, I very much enjoyed the roll and it works well with the pasta. The manicotti was very cheesy with a generous portion and plenty of cheese. It was certainly one of the best manicottis I’ve had and I would certainly come back for just that though I would love to try some of their other menu options. I also like that the seasonings on the table include basil and oregano alongside the usual as I’ve grown fond of using that to season my Italian dishes.
If you’re looking for a comfy restaurant that makes you think of an Italian family restaurant, Cafe Sitaly is definitely a good place to check out around Claymont.

Ugh! Two for dinner. We ordered calamari appetizer, shrimp scampi, and chicken parm. The calamari was absolutely awful! It was certainly not restaurant quality, and more like a frozen store brand. You can tell by the shape and breading. It was like chewing breaded and deep fried rubber bands. Inedible. The salads were dismal: iceberg lettuce and tomato slices kn a small glass dish. Woohoo. Chicken was overcooked (over fried?), dry, and hard to chew as well. How do you mess that up, one of the most typical dishes of an Italian restaurant? The scampi was the only thing that was passable; it was cooked okay but very bland and too much spaghetti for the five shrimp you get. The waitress wasn’t terrible, wasn’t great. She wasn’t rude, just disinterested and “doing my job” type of demeanor. In other words, she couldn’t care less if you came back or not. This place is like one of those “I can boil water for pasta so I’ll open an Italian restaurant” type of places. Don’t recommend. Look elsewhere.

A few of our friends really loved this place and we finally got around to trying it. I can see why they ♥️ it! The food was amazing. The service was good, even though they were so busy. The atmosphere is that of a small cafe in Tuscany. We have visited twice in the weeks since our initial visit!

Great bread and hot food, nothing to complain about. Only thing is that there isn’t much space in the restaurant due to it’s shape.

I liked Cafe Sitaly the few times I had them, until I found a COOKED ROACH in my garlic knots today. This prompted me to check their last health inspection, and apparently at the last inspection in May 2024 they had 15 violations. Needless to say, this is will have been my last time ordering from Cafe Sitaly.
