This inspiring local Minneapolis cafe serves delicious meals, coffee, and desserts. They generously provide breakfast until 3 pm. And their breakfasts are so good, we enjoy them for lunch at times. Individually wrapped scones are ready to go. (My favorite is a Peach Pecan Scone.)

The Avocado Toast with Two Poached Eggs is excellent. It comes on a thick slice of broice bread and a side of fresh mixed greens for a salad.

The beverage board is updated with staff creations that are fun to try. Like the “Nutty Professor,” “Lavender Honey Latte,” and “Mabel’s Mocha.” I especially like mocktails and recommend the “Pomagranate Sunrise” mocktail. It is nice that we can order wine by the glass.

They thoughtfully provide alternatives to milk for your coffee and/or tea – oat and soy milk are ideal options. Brownies, cookies, and cinnamon rolls are always available.

The walls are decorated with bright artwork from local artists. These framed pictures add a good deal of cheer and welcome. It’s super to see many neighborhood residents chatting and enjoying food or beverages together.

We typically have little wait in line to order; it is sufficient time to make up our mind while reading the menu board. Once ordered, we found a table and our food arrived quickly. It is nice to see the original wood floor as a pleasant reminder of the building’s history.

Service is consistently excellent. Friendly staff. It was a short and pleasant walk from our curb-side parking spot.

The atmosphere was the best part of this establishment. Walls covered in local art that is able to be purchased. The food was decent, the smoked salmon toast was a bit fishy and still had the bloodline in the salmon, the egg scramble is what you’d expect however the potatoes could absolutely use a bit more time being cooked. The specialty lattes are good but nothing crazy.

Adorable cafe serving up delicious meals, including breakfast until 3pm. The walls are decorated with cool locally-made artwork. We did have to wait in line for a little while to order, but it was worth it and the food came out quickly.

Honestly disappointed with my breakfast experience at Gigi’s today. We were seated in a space that faced a blank white wall. I ordered the curry hash and the curried veggies were so bland and watery – I don’t think they used any salt. I ate the ggs and toast, but only a couple bites of the curried veggies and left the rest of the plate. Very disappointing for a $15 meal. I can say the service was prompt when spoken to, but it also took us 10 minutes to get the attention of the service for a box for the other meal. Usually, I like Gigi’s for the ambiance and food, but something was off today.

Really cute local diner+cafe+seat yourself restaurant-bistro style setup. The BLT was so fulfilling and fresh and just what I was looking for. Self-service in the sense that you walk up to the counter and order was actually much nicer and quicker than one would expect. Loved the vibes, quiet yet sociable. The lavender latte was VIBEZZ. Soft, sweet, foamy, and caffeinated.

This spot has been on my list for a while and did not disappoint! The prices are reasonable, staff is friendly and kind and the service was super quick! I think our food came out in less than 10 minutes after ordering. The breakfast burrito was 10/10!

Decent place with decent breakfast but nothing special.

One of my kids ordered the Egg and Cheddar Biscuit Sandwich with a side of bacon. She said it was good but was too dry after a while, I guess because of the biscuit.
I had the savory scone (not in photo). Also kinda dry and was just ok.
My oldest and friend’s daughter said they “liked” their food, in a very unenthusiastic way.

My kids liked their Lavender Honey Vanilla Latte though but the other teenager with me did not like her Raspberry White Chocolate Mocha which, according to her, was too sweet.

I might or might not come back.

GIGIS IS THE REASON I PASSED MY BOARDS

I absolutely love Gigis! Their staff is warm and welcoming and their food is great! Overall I am very picky about my coffee shops for studying- in my opinion, a good coffee shop to study at should have at least the following:
1) outlets
2) good food (not just bakery)
3) good coffee
4) good hours (Gigis is open late and serve amazing dinner too!),
5) good atmosphere (I love how Gigis is laid back, has art from many local artists- which is all for sale, and they are super queer friendly!)
As a BONUS Gigis also serves beer, wine and cocktails! Great for the late studying when your brain is numb and you’re ready to start relaxing finally

I would highly recommend Gigis to literally anyone who likes food, coffee, art, or people (but if you’re introverted that’s ok you can be introverted here too)

My favorite is the breakfast burrito and cold press express!

Update to my review: I studied at Gigis relentlessly for my Canadian Physiotherapy Boards. I studied there for nearly 3 months, studying for hours on end. 80% of my studying was accomplished at Gigis with special appreciation for the friendly and amazing staff, food and coffee, outlets, wifi, and overall amazing atmosphere with art and decor. Seriously. I couldn’t have done this (or had the level of focus and determination- despite some wavering at times) without Gigis!

Gigis rocks!
