We discovered this lovely bakery when planning a trip to NC from Florida, and are so glad we did! I called a few days before leaving and placed an order for them to hold for me since we wouldn’t be there until the afternoon. They were beyond happy to hold these items for us! Everything was absolutely delicious, and the service was beyond wonderful!! We met the owner, and he is so kind. We will be back if in the area!

My husband and I wanted to try this place for months and we finally were able to. The staff greets everyone, there’s a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners are very kind and friendly. I tried my very first canelé and it was everything I imagined and more! The croissants are absolutely amazing, buttery and flakey goodness. It was just perfect with the cappuccino I got. We obviously had to get some goodies to take home. When we come back to visit family in CLT again, we will definitely be taking that 45min drive to come to this amazing bakery.

Mado Paris Bakery on Cherry Road in Rock Hill is so amazing! If you haven’t been there. Need to check it out. Chef Serge is the real thing. So is his megawatt smile and sunny disposition. He makes all of his pastries & delicacies with an absolute love and pride, and it’s evident in the results, but also the way he speaks about them. The butter, flour, chocolate, and more is imported from France. It is shipped over to New Jersey and then flown on a refrigeration cargo plane to Charlotte. If you know your pastries, then you know that the butter absolutely matters and he uses the best as he’s holding up in one of the pictures here.

My husband and I are always on the hunt for a local bakery while traveling. He stumbled upon this gem on our trip to Rock Hill. The pastries taste as good as they look. They are absolutely beautiful and the perfect touch of sweetness. Oh and the chocolate flavored coffee, HELLO! Yummm
We got a wide variety of items and they were all good. I’ve never been to France, but this place made me want to go. LOL
The staff is super nice. The pastry chef is super nice. The atmosphere is cozy (and pretty neat because the old bank vault door is still intact.

I grabbed a bunch of items to try this past weekend. The croissants are beautiful. I heated one up in the air fryer the next day and it was amazing. Most other croissants get too greasy or too dry. This one was perfect, flaky, buttery.
The golden skull – delicious, the punchy raspberry was my favorite part.
Loved the meringue lemon tarte- not too tart, not too sweet.
The coconut thing, Paris Brest, and pecan choux were absolutely delicious.
The baguette was a good size, crusty – I had mine with butter and caviar. It was perfect.
Lots of layers lots of techniques, lots of work. So I disagree with the comments about prices being too high. Prices here are reasonable. Everything is consistent and done really well.
There was one item that I personally didn’t love, which was the crème brûlée. It’s a personal opinion…I prefer a richer cream. This one was lighter more like a chawanmushi texture. And that may be great for other people.
But overall, this by far the best French bakery in the Carolinas. The owner is lovely and so is the staff.

The staff are friendly and French so you’re getting an authentic bakery experience. I bought 2 salted caramel choux for my husband and I. They were divine! It’s not like a typical puff pastry that has super sweet filling with a doughy pastry. Their pastry is more crumbly with some sweetness to it, however, the salted caramel filling stole the show. It’s rich and sweet enough to let you enjoy every bite of the choux. I can’t wait to eat my chocolate croissant tomorrow, that is, if I can resist it tonight

This french bakery is a gem!!! The pastries are INCREDIBLE, not overly sweet but a soft touch of sweetness, large selection of pastries – great coffee, we had cappuccinos. The owner and his staffs are amazing, friendly and they made us feel so welcomed. Great experience, we look forward to coming back!!!
