Boyfriend brought food home and the portions were incredibly small, these two very small meals cost $38 not nearly enough food for almost $20 a plate. I actually thought he ate some of it on the way home, he didn’t. The egg rolls were so dry, barely filled with anything, and had no flavor. The chicken was chewy and dry and had a very awful taste. The yakisoba noodles were decent, it’s literally the only thing we ate and had to throw the rest away. The fortune cookies were even stale.
We were SO disappointed and will not be coming back here.

I was reading reviews as I waited for my food and saw a handful of very nasty remarks and experiences (most from about 5 years ago). As far as recent reviews everything seemed fairly positive so I wasn’t too worried.
The restaurant itself was very quaint and quiet. The whole time I was seated there were only two tables at any time (myself included). It seemed very clean and comfortable. Not too bright or dark for lighting.
I started with an egg roll appetizer which came with 3 egg rolls cut in half. They looked different than I’ve ever seen before. Almost looked like a sausage link stuffed in there like a pig in a blanket, but tasted just like any other egg roll. I was not disappointed.
The waitress was a young gal who was very friendly and made sure I had everything I needed without feeling overbearing or “fake” like she was saving face because she’s at work. She seemed genuine and gave the place a welcoming atmosphere.
After my egg rolls I indulged in a bowl of egg flower soup which only comes in one size (a big bowl) because each batch is made fresh per order. I absolutely loved this and decided it was worth roughly $8 to take home and enjoy later.
I kid you not when I say it was the BEST egg flower soup I have ever had. Everywhere I have ever gone in the past had decent egg flower soup, but I always felt the need to add soy sauce. Not here. It was served steaming fresh and flavorful. Very glad I decided to order a bowl.
By the time I had decided I love the soup my main dish had come out. I had a “make your own combo” with pork lo mein, bbq pork, and pork fried rice. The plate was just under $14. It felt very reasonable for the portions.
The lo mein was so savory I fell in love immediately. The bbq pork felt familiar and I enjoyed it, but not as much as the lo mein.
The only thing that felt lacking by the time I was finished was my pork fried rice, but it is rice. Rice is rice. I can’t say I ever expect much from rice as it is plain by nature. The bbq pork garnish definitely helped. I guess the reason I wasn’t impressed with the rice is because the rice itself just felt a little too mushy. I suppose I expected something different and so I set myself up for that one. Stupid expectations
Overall I am very pleased with the service, prices, and product.
My meal was very satisfying and filling. My experience was welcoming and my server was kind. My bill was as expected (I practically ordered enough food for two people). I would definitely return if I were to find myself on this side of the state again.
Thank you for the experience!

Great experience! The owner who is also the chef and host was very welcoming and pleasant. That, along with the cosy interior, led to a very nice atmosphere. The food (I had the Golden Dragon lo mein and egg drop soup) was absolutely delicious and came out relatively quickly and piping hot! Very good experience and would highly recommend.

This place is really good. We were a little skeptical at first but ended up very, very happy customers. My husband likes big portions and they don’t meet that standard for him but the quality and delicious food makes up for for the portions. This is a regular for us now. Trust me, its good. Stop looking and go try!

The restaurant is rather pleasant. It was very clean, not a lot of sound carrying, very quiet. I was thrilled by the small menu. In COVID times, keeping ingredients in stock for the more standard eighty-seven entrees would be prohibitively expensive and it was nice to see that the Golden Dragon has found a nice place where people can assemble most of what they’d be looking for into a meal.
I enjoyed my meal here, but I have enjoyed the same dish elsewhere for a lot cheaper and a lot better as well. If you’re looking for a place that will feed you decent, perfectly edible chinese food? You can do a lot worse. If you’re looking for that little hole in the wall where you can get “a bucket of food for a dollar,” I’m afraid the Golden Dragon will not be that place for me.

Golden Dragon has the best food and the best customer service, hands down! My coworkers and I stopped by for lunch and and we couldn’t stop talking about the chicken and broccoli. It was light, healthy, full of flavor, and left us wanting more! If you have the chance- stop by and support Kathy as she takes the time to reopen her business. You won’t regret it!

Hello Golden Dragon! My husband and I stopped in after our very spontaneous decision to drive down to Ocean Shores and all the back north to Blaine in the same day. After walking on the beach and not wishing to deal with the crowds, we packed up and started driving back. When we spied the Golden Dragon and saw that it was open we took our chance. Visually, 10/10. There were so many little details to discover and some touches that I want to add to my own decorations at home. The food was phenomenal. We had freshly fried shrimp that were cooked to perfection and hand made dumplings for our appetizers. I am not exaggerating when I say that I would happily drive 4 hours back down to Hoquiam just for those dumplings. Since we got a little soaked at the beach, the pho was too tempting to resist and it was wonderful. I want to extend a huge thank you to the hostess and the owner who came out and chatted with us, your food is scrumptious and we can’t wait to come back. – Coop and Jess <3
