Zaytoona is Kansas City’s go-to destination for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine, freshly baked goods, and a handpicked grocery selection — all under one roof.
Their menu features favorites, such as the crisp crunch of Falafel Platter, savory Lamb Kabab, signature Zaytoona Wrap, sizzling Shish Tawook, or Chicken Shawarma Rice Bowl — all served with soup or salad. Their Combo Platters (like the Zaytoona Kabab Platter, perfect for sharing), and Hummus Plates with warm pita on the side and flaky Baklava — available with pistachio or walnut are a must try.
Whether you’re stopping in for a hearty meal, shopping for halal pantry staples, or picking up fresh pita and baklava from the bakery, Zaytoona is the right place

Placed an order online for quite a bit of food. Ordered the gyro hummus, gyro sandwich, gyro combo and shawarma combo. The hummus was good but I have had better store bought hummus. The rice was just a standard rice that was not seasoned and lacked flavor. The gyro meat was good however the chicken was dry.
Im glad I tried it because it is close by in my neighborhood. But we will not be back.

One of the few Mediterranean places that I’ll go to. Being Palestinian I know what authentic food is supposed to taste like. I’ve also spent 10 years in Saudi Arabia so I have high standards! The food here is always good, I feel like the amount of spice added to the food is a little less than it used to be but that doesn’t make it bad by any means. The quality of the meats is always superb and all the sides are delicious! Everyone is going to have their own opinion and this is mine!

I have eaten medit food a lot, this was the worst. It’s amazing so many people have 5 stars. Must have never eaten authentic medit food for sure! The gyro platter meats definitely mixed with a lot of bread/added meal to save on beef, spices, etc. and bland compared to authentic gyro’s taste pops in your mouth. Authentic gyro meat is somewhat greasy, this moist/mushy. The hummus tastes like a 5 gal. bucket processed hummus, had no paprika and some low end whatever oil that was not olive oil for sure by the flavor, the yellow steamed rice had no taste whatsoever, the tzatziki sauce barely any taste, the salad bland as well with a lot of liquid half way through! The sriracha sauce was def filled with ketchup because it was so sweet it should have been. It’s obvious they’re trying to make their building costs back by cutting the he food quality! All around displeasing to spend almost $16 when you should enjoy your food and its taste. Save $and tine and go to YAFA Mediterranean Cuisine in OP, KS in Switzerland, their food’s the best tasting and authentic even their lentil soup is delish! The atmosphere is beautiful and their tea/coffee is to die for. The staff are so warm and you feel like family! The best flavorful food around town, authentic and they don’t cut back for cost or flavor. I won’t be going back nor recommending anyone to the former Olive Cafe. The store is nice to look at though and I’m sure the store prices have doubled. Sad to say w-so many hungry people in the world I had to throw way 90% of the hummus, salad, rice and 80% of the meal meat, only thing I took home was the pita for tomorrow’s breakfast. Not worth the trip and gas!

Great customer service. The food was delicious. The portions are worth it. I watched them bake pita while I waited for my order. && the grocery selection had me thinking of recipes I want to make now. Go support this business! Definitely worth the trip in.

The Olive Cafe reborn! The humble spot you knew has grown into a bright, purpose-built showpiece just up the street. Step inside and the scale hits you: soaring ceilings, sunlight everywhere, brand-new counters piled with fresh pita, olives, and spices. The grocery aisles stretch twice as long, stocked with hard-to-find imports. The kitchen now turns out everything from wood-fired manakish to slow-braised lamb, while the classics still taste exactly right. It feels like a food hall, a market, and your favorite neighborhood hangout rolled into one. If the old Olive Cafe was a hidden gem, the new one is a must-visit landmark—drop in, eat well, and leave with a full shopping bag and an even fuller smile.

Olive Cafe takes their already great dining, service and food to the next level! You can’t go wrong with take away or the buffet. Their hummus is the standard by which I hold every other hummus, in the world. It is that good.

Have a great weekend buffet: Friday, Saturday and Sunday. It’s better to get there in the earlier afternoon. Has a wide variety of Middle Eastern favorites. The staff is friendly and professional. The food Is high quality. It’s decorated with posters, at least one of which I remember from a hotel in the Arab quarter in Jerusalem. I would highly recommend it. It includes stuffed grape leaves and grilled lamb in addition to much more! And the tea is the best ever!

Thos place is not even a mile away from us. We tend to go here often. I love their cheese pizza with spinach. They are reasonably priced, and the food taste fresh and amazing everytime. If you haven’t gone there yet you need too. They also have great coffee in the single packs, I buy it everytime I go. There pizza you can buy freshly made.

Beautiful, open, airy mini- market and adjoining sit down/ takeout restaurant. My husband had chicken shawarma and I had the fish(blackened tilapia) dinner. Everything was freshly made and delicious. We truly enjoyed our experience here. The parking lot is brand new and well done concrete slab.
