Edit: about two bites into this sub there was a small bone fragment that could have easily chipped a tooth. It was very hard, it flexible at all, roughly the length of a diced onion but skinnier. Accidentally threw away before I could get a picture. What’s going on with this place?

This place has gone downhill significantly over the years, but tonight takes the cake. Got a steak bomb and rather than green peppers, you put pickles on it. The sub looks like it was mangled as well, very sloppily put together. See picture. I understand they’re both green but the pickles have a pretty strong smell, different texture and overall do not look like peppers. The general quality of ingredients is sub par as well. Sub is poorly put together, as if they take no pride in their work. Do not recommend.

Steak Tips and Cheese, BBQ Beef or Hot Pastrami, all with shaved parmesan and fried onions, are my favorite subs. Plus … they offer gluten free now. A side of fries is sometimes a tasty way to round out my lunch. Nadeau’s has been around for so long, I can’t remember when they weren’t there. Subs have always been topnotch. I usually order take-out and my order is always ready on time, even when they are super-busy bees. Very definitely recommend!

We ordered from here like we typically do. We eat here about 2-3x a month (yes we love it typically) but the past few times we have gone the quality is just getting worse and worse.
We ordered tonight (a very large order over $80) and were so disappointed when we received it. The Mozzarella sticks were hard from being overcooked, the Philly cheesesteak had more bread than meat. It looks like they put MAYBE half a serving in there and then squished the bread down to make it look like there was more in it. The steak tip sub was also lacking meat (paid for extra meat AND extra cheese) they deff put a tiny bit of extra cheese but they did not add extra steak (I don’t even think they added a regular portion to it) at the end of the roll there’s about an inch maybe half inch of emptiness, it’s just bread. Fries were also over cooked.
After this experience we are done eating there at least for the foreseeable future. I understand that times are hard and businesses are suffering but this place is already pretty pricey and it’s insane to me that the owners let the quality go down so far and quite rapidly too.
I really hope someone sees this and does not make the same mistake we did because you’ll just spend a lot of money and be let down.
If you are looking for a really good steak and cheese or Philly cheesesteak, I recommend Giovanni’s in Manchester, they ALWAYS load the subs with meat and it’s much cheaper than here.

Oct 2024:

The sandwich was decent, and I enjoyed that the pickles were chopped, which added a nice touch to the overall flavor. There was a nice selection of subs to choose from, catering to different tastes. The bread was fresh, and the fillings were well-portioned. However, I feel like a bit more seasoning could have elevated the experience. Overall, a solid meal, for the price.

I have had the pleasant experience of eating at Nadeau’s Subs well over 30 years ago. My go to was their steak sub with American Cheese, grilled mushrooms and onions. I was pleasantly surprised to find them still serving their steak tip subs upon my return to New Hampshire. The sub was better than I remembered. The staff was friendly and efficient with my sandwich being ready in minutes. More so I love that they are FAMILY OWNED. From here on they will be my go to for not only the best steak and cheese, but the warmth of their personnel. Please support this locally owned business.

Oh, how I miss it here since I’ve graduated from Saint A’s. Their subs are the best I’ve had in NH. I’ve been craving a Philly cheesesteak from here all week. I think it’s time I made the trip up for a visit.

My Dad also is a Saint A’s alumni and I grew up eating here with him while visiting the campus.
A little slice of home away from home.

**I emailed the owner per their request with all of the requested information, and I never heard back lol.

I normally don’t write bad reviews, but this is a necessary exception.. I thought Nadeau’s was famous for their steak.. I tried the steak tip salad and honestly wish I hadn’t. The steak tips (they were not steak tips) were overcooked, chewy, and oddly flavorless—like they were grilled last week and reheated in a microwave. Sadly, I paid for extra steak thinking I was actually getting steak tips and not flavorless gray meat. I was expecting a hearty salad with fresh greens and quality toppings, but what I got was a sad pile of wilted lettuce and tough flavorless pieces of chewy meat. Overall, totally underwhelming. You’d be better off grilling your own steak at home and throwing it on a bag of spring mix. From what I remember their subs are good.. but they should not have salads on their menu.

Had the starek tip which I always get when I go to the one off south willow at. Mind you it has been a handful of yrs since I have been.
That being said what happen. Seems like a change in management or ingredients. The sub tasted different but I couldnt quite figure it out. The steak it’s self was cut way to big. The end is the worst, I never felt the way I felt about 4 hrs later but again not good. So not sure what’s up but not going back to at least this location. I will try s.willow St just to be sure.
