Reviews
Pitmaster/Owner Danny Hernandez isn’t just serving brisket — he’s built a true craft barbecue destination rooted in Tampa culture and community. A longtime local with deep culinary roots, Danny has poured decades of experience into perfecting Texas-inspired barbecue right here in the Bay.
Beyond the smoker, his ties to Tampa run deep — from supporting local charities to helping lead events like BBQ Love Fest, which brings pitmasters together to raise money for causes like Friedreich’s Ataxia research, disaster relief, and veteran organizations. It’s barbecue with heart.
Now let’s talk food… because that’s why you came.
Prime brisket smoked low and slow over oak, house-made sausages, ribs, desserts and sides that don’t play backup — everything is handcrafted, no shortcuts. When they say, “until sold out,” believe it… get there early.
Authentic. Community-driven. Award-worthy barbecue.
The Brisket Shoppe is the real deal.
Stop by soon and tell them Tampa Bay Food Tours sent you!
I would call before heading there because they do run out! They were out of burnt ends on a Saturday @1pm. Get there early!
Outdoor seating is shaded, comfortable, and clean! Indoor seating and they have a HUGE wine selection!
Definitely stop by they are WONDERFUL! Staff is great! They all were very polite, patient and professional!
PS We ordered the two meat plate (brisket and pulled pork) with two sides! Prices and menu are on their website
PSS They have these “brisket bon bons” that are rolls filled with brisket; glazed with cinnamon and butter! Really interesting but TASTY!!!
I walked in and was immediately greased (yes, greased) by an employee who kindly explained how to order, like a brisket angel guiding me to salvation. Sadly, I came for the brisket—but it was sold out by 3pm. Clearly, the chosen meat ascends early.
So I pivoted to the burnt tips. Friends, that cow was sacrificed for a holy reason: tender, saucy, falling off the bone like it was auditioning for a food gospel. Bless that cow.
Then came the tallow French fries—crispy, golden, and so good they made me question every potato I’ve ever met. The dirty rice? Divine. And the BonBons? My goodness. Bless the wheat farmer for the flour, bless the cow for the cream, and bless the chefs for turning it all into bite‑sized miracles.
The shop itself is spotless, the staff are saints, and the food is nothing short of biblical. Highly recommend—just get there before 3pm if you want the brisket.
I can’t say enough good things about this place. The brisket is absolutely phenomenal — tender, juicy, and smoked to perfection. They make the best Cuban sandwich & their potato salad is outstanding. You can tell they take real pride in their craft.
The staff is friendly, fun and the atmosphere has that laid-back, welcoming BBQ vibe. It’s the kind of place where you instantly feel at home — and full. This spot is a must-try.
We got a little bit of everything on the menu, including burnt ends, brisket, sausage, pulled pork, empanadas, and various sides. It was hard to pick a favorite, but the burnt ends were damn near perfect. Mac and cheese had great flavor and was not mushy (thank you!). Collards were delicious!!! Potato salad was a little rich for my liking, but still good. Even the beans were good. Wish I’d have gotten the cilantro cole slaw, but there’s always next time.
Service was super friendly – offering free beer/water while we waited. Prepare to wait, but you’ll be very glad you did. We will be back for sure!
