I stopped in at Castlewood Café for breakfast and couldn’t have been more impressed. I had the chicken fried steak with eggs, hashbrowns, and toast — everything was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. The steak was crispy on the outside and tender inside, the eggs were done just the way I like them, and the hashbrowns had that perfect golden crunch.
The service was warm, friendly, and attentive without being overbearing, and my coffee cup was never empty. It’s the kind of place that makes you feel welcome the moment you sit down.
If you’re looking for a hearty, satisfying breakfast served with great service and fresh hot coffee, Castlewood Café is absolutely worth the stop!

This is a good diner with a broad selection of food. The restaurant is tucked away by the railroad tracks in Strutevant. To no fault of their own, the surrounding area does not seem fit formed for a restaurant, but it was ok inside. The parking lot was full and almost all the tables were taken, so people are aware of the restaurant and love it and packed it this Sunday morning.
Some parts were a bit outdated, but nothing was dirty or uncomfortable. The menu was vast. Prices are rising everywhere, but this one was just a bit higher than most restaurants that I would compare to its size and condition.
We would certainly go back. I just wasn’t able to give it a five star review. The food was good, served fresh and hot, and the staff was friendly.

This has been a go to place for a consistent year and the food has always been quick and stellar, the staff attentive and welcoming, and the atmosphere cozy. Classic local diner vibes, plenty of regulars and a good menu. Our order is the Mediterranean skillet and it’s perfect every time, definitely big enough portions to split!

Ordered takeout, was told ready in 5 mins. Arrived 10 min later only 1 breakfast done I had ordered 2 carbon copies, so, I had them cook an additional breakfast with the one left behind and took a breather outside. Service was great! At home I had to cook the hash browns, they tasted green with oil dressing. Eggs where over hard, ordered OM. Will not be returning. Do not recommend.

Very very good breakfast. Quick seating and very fair pricing. Always clean and staff is friendly. This is our standard go-to for weekend breakfast. Really excellent Mexican breakfast menu as well.

The food and service were both great! I had the enchiladas and they were surprisingly good for a place that doesn’t advertise itself as a Mexican joint. My server was very kind and welcoming and the general environment was pretty friendly. Overall a pleasant dinner experience. I’ll probably be back!

Hidden gem! This place has a very full menu. Great customer service. The food was very great quality for the price. Also very clean as well. I will definitely be coming back to try more of their menu. Truck parking is also available. Went back again and the food was just as good.

Mediocre at best. The interior (see owner posted pics) was popular in the ’90s. The server was friendly. The kitchen was slowww. I was in a party of 4, and ordered country fried steak. I ordered my eggs over easy. As seen in the picture they arrived over hard. I returned them. Half way through the steak and hash browns, the replacement eggs finally arrived. I did receive 3 to replace the original 2 but they were still more over hard than over easy. Sometimes you just choose your battles and eat what is in front of you rather than make my friends wait another 1/2 hour. Price of meal for two was about 22 bucks. Not rushing back anytime soon.

Love the feel of a good ole “family reasturant “. This is a place my grandma and mom both would like. Lol. The cowboy breakfast was great. Best thing woth thay special is you don’t have to choose your meat. You get all 3. LOL.. great waitress. great breakfast woth my dad!

Okay food. Nothing to write home about. French toast portion size was pretty small for the price and the orange juice the mimosas are made with is super cheap and not flavorful. Pretty watered down actually and not very much champagne in it. Super busy. Not sure why. Nothing spectacular.
