The Alloy restaurant in the Double Tree hotel in Battle Creek, MI is definitely a place you would want to visit for dinner. My wife and I are staying at the hotel and decided to eat there on a Friday night during happy hour (4pm-6pm). Happy hour specials are half off all house drinks, including specialty drinks and $5 off any of there old school oven style made pizzas (including ones you can craft yourself). Jay was our server and even though he had numerous tables, he was very friendly, very responsive, and very attentive. We never had to wait for him for anything that we were needing during out meal. Amanda was the manager and she had no problem helping out her team and greeted us in a friendly, warm manner and poured our waters for us. As a bonus, since they were extremely busy that night, our drinks took a little longer than Amanda would have expected for us, so she comped our drinks for us and that was a very much so welcomed gesture. The pizza was amazing! Compliments to the chef for that! We went with a pesto sauce, chicken, olives, carmalized onions, and mushroom create your own pizza (they have quite a few combos that can be created). They also have a well rounded menu with other great options that we look forward to trying in the future. I highly recommend this restaurant for any one staying at the Double Tree hotel, anyone traveling through the Battle Creek area, or even locals who have not tried this spot out yet.

While staying at the doubletree, instead of going out I ventured to the hotel restaurant. I was pleasantly pleased. The atmosphere was nice, my bartender was very friendly, and it did not take long to get my food. Came out hot and fresh! The salmon was cooked to perfection!

I had an amazing experience at The Alloy! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was welcoming and modern without feeling overdone. The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely made us feel taken care of throughout the meal.
The highlight of the night was absolutely the stone fire pizza. You can really taste the difference that the stone oven makes

We arrived at the restaurant and was not greeted by the person on their phone at the host stand. Made our way to the bar. Restaurant had all of 8 people in it. We sat down at the bar and were greeted by the friendly bar tender. He took our drink order, but he made them about 10 minutes later. We finally got our drinks. $20 for a subpar Woodford Old Fashioned. We ordered a pizza. It came out lukewarm as it sat out waiting for the bartender to deliver the pizza. The port bartender was overwhelmed. He had two tables and now a bar full of people just wanting a drink. As all of this is going on the manager is standing in the corner with his hands in his pockets. He could have delivered the food as he was five steps away from it. The bartender is still busy and now the manager is on his phone. I am a Battle Creek resident and have tried this place 5 times. Until you get someone in this place that can manage people and customers, I will not be back. I really wanted this place to make it. Unfortunately now I hope it fails so a true restaurant owner can take it over. The opportunity for this place to be great is there. It all starts with the managers. Pay attention to detail and your customers will notice. Good luck.

Stopped in for lunch, hadn’t visited before. My Tavern Salad with chicken was very good and filling. Our server Ella took time to explain the menu offerings and was very personable as well. Well done!

Battle Creek has a new place for breakfast. The alloy is in the DoubleTree hotel downtown. Very good atmosphere, the staff is professional and the timing was perfect. I had the Greek omelette which was prepared well. Even the background music was nice, Low key but contemporary. Nice touch.

The food was amazing and for what it was the prices were adequate. The flavors were amazing and out of this world. The service was very nice and the workers seemed like they genuinely wanted to work there. Overall one of the better restaurants in Battle Creek.

Stayed at the hotel for most of a week since we were playing in a pool tournament being held at the arena. Gabby was our server most times, and honestly, we were kind of disappointed when she wasn’t. Gabby was great and even checked on us the couple times she wasn’t our server. We always asked to be seated in her section if she was working.
The biscuits & gravy at breakfast was excellent. I had that every morning. Why change it up when you know what’s great, right? The steak & eggs looked good from what I saw even though the steak looked a little overcooked.
Only 4 stars because the one bartender always tried to push us to buy more expensive drinks. We tried to order orange tea shots, but they didn’t have Jameson Orange(bartender did say he could make it using Jameson & orange bitters), so we opted for white teas. He asked how we made them(Tito’s, sweet & sour, Peachtree). He says he has a good idea for a shot. We trust him. 10-15 minutes later, we see him putting 4 large long islands on a tray! We just wanted a quick shot for our team since we still had another match, not a huge glass of almost straight liquor! We refuse them, and he makes us the white teas we wanted in the first place. When we cash out, the 4 drinks he improvised & we refused(totalling $50!) were added to our tab! I understand trying to up-sell, but that was ridiculous! We had our server take them off our bill. I don’t know if he thought we wouldn’t notice, but if the customer asks for something specific, he should make them what they want instead of trying to sneak them into buying more expensive drinks! He tried this every time he was our bartender, even at 50 Beacon(lounge on the 16th floor). I just want a beer or simple drink, not your “special” $15 cocktail, so you can try to show off your bartending “flair”.

The food was horrible. The steak was so burnt the flavor was gross. The service was also just as horrible. Asked for a drink and the manager said finish what you have before you can get something else. Water was also never refilled. Overall a horrible experience. Do not recommend.
