Standard Chinese takeout. I was hoping for really good egg rolls (I grew up in NY and miss good egg rolls), but they were just so-so. I had the roast pork with broccoli and the roast pork appetizer and it was great. My friends had their local favorites: lemon chicken and wonton soup.

I first opened the sesame chicken and was scared… but when I bit into it my mouth was dancing! the rice was a bit bland… but I also got broccoli with brown sauce it could’ve been better… but the chicken looked like actual chicken which was nice !

I went out of my way and paid more to go to this restaurant for Chinese food because it had such good reviews, but I had a very poor experience. The good: our order was accurate and the rice and egg roll were cooked well. The bad: the pieces of chicken were bigger than I’ve ever received with Chinese food, which in and of itself wouldn’t have been bad, but only half of them were cooked well. I had to tear off several pieces that were as hard as wood and inedible.

If you’re looking for great Chinese takeout, Cai Hong is the spot! It’s a small, family-owned place that’s always super clean, and the food is always on point. The portions are really generous—you definitely get your money’s worth—and everything tastes so fresh and flavorful. You can tell they put a lot of care into their dishes. Whether it’s classics like General Tso’s or their fried rice, everything I’ve tried has been delicious. It’s my go-to for takeout when I want something comforting and satisfying!

Great People running a long lasting landmark in southold, an averagely good Chinese food restaurant

Personally I always love their wonton soup.

I recently started getting into their curry chicken.

I have been going to Cai Hong for many years. The owner is lovely, hardworking, and generous. The food is EXCELLENT, the portions are great, and she always sends extra treats! Cookies and crab rangoons! Love it! I am a loyal and happy customer!

I don’t like to make bad reviews, but I won’t be back. Service was normal, I guess. I was kind of afraid to eat the food. It tasted below average. Their restaurant is very old and doesn’t give much confidence that you’re going to get a good meal. I got a lot of boneless spareribs, but I’d rather get half and have the fat trimmed off. I know it’s the off-season, but the food just seemed old.

Hello Stranger
So far we’ve picked up several times and the food was delicious. You get double the amount other places give you.
The lemon chicken
Lo mein
Spare ribs
Fried wontons
Cheese wontons
Shrimp and lobster sauce
Duck
Roast pork
And anything else we ordered several times was delicious

I however wish they had homemade crispy noodles rather than the prepackaged which i find rather strange. They give you free wontons or cheese wontons or both depending on your total $.
