FORMER GLORY: NOW MEDIOCRE AT BEST

Washington prime used to be a great steakhouse. Their wet-aged strip steak was the best, bar none! Their hamburgers, especially on Sunday, were heavenly. I don’t know if they changed chefs, owners or the quality of their ingredients has gone down, but the food is Shake Shack quality at Delmonico‘s price. I went for years and trust me I will never set foot in that restaurant again. The servers were rude. It’s worn down. The silverware was mismatched. Dishes were served that were chipped as were wine glasses. I actually cut my lip on one of the wine glasses. Such a terrible disappointment. Do not pay a fortune to go to this restaurant and receive inadequate food and bad service. Oh, and by the way, I wish I had taken a picture, but my salad had lots of sand/dirt in it basically inedible. I did return it.

I had the grouper, which comes with risotto with coconut, and plantain. If the plantain was the green type, I’d be perfect, but it’s the ripe fried plantain which does not go with the fish at all. I was wishing I had some salt to put onto the fish. Everything else was good.
The fish basically needed a little salt ,and get rid of the plantain .

The porterhouse for two was excellent—perfectly cooked with great flavor. The cocktails were really well made, and the side dish complemented the meal nicely. Overall, a very good experience and definitely worth trying.

One of the best dining experiences in CT. The team including Gillian and Katie are so welcoming, knowlegible and approachable. You always feel like you are being well taken care of. They have quality and tasty food that rivals some of the best places in nyc. The bacon and oysters are ‘dare I say’ better than Peter Lugar. The char from their oven gives everything another dimention and all the food is perfectly balanced and extreamely satisfying. The chef is very talented and creative with the compostion of every dish. Finish your meal with an exquite bananas foster or the out of this world apple situation. I cannot wait to come back for the tomahawk steak.

Went to Washington Prime for the first time on Sunday evening for a date night and we were not disappointed. The service was great and the food was so delicious! Our server Scott was such a nice guy, the steaks were cooked perfectly, the lobster tails were fresh and all the sides were so good. The dessert was great too (we almost passed on trying a couple but glad we didn’t!). The only thing that I would rate a 4 instead of a 5 would be the old fashioned, but it was still decent and didn’t kill the vibes. We will for sure be back to try their brunch soon!

We went last night for the first time, there to celebrate a birthday. Let me say, from the first step into the restaurant- I was awed. The beauty was simply ravishing! Amplified by the evening, all the gorgeous Christmas decorations were simply breathtaking! The ambient softness of the lighting immediately put you at a level of home comfort. I was courted by the romantic dimness, WP has won my heart! Now the food – a delicious steak, tender short rib, and fresh salmon. All easily Michelin quality, down to the presentation. Some of the best food I’ve tasted. I have no complaints, and may not wait for a special occasion to return!

My favorite spot in the Fairfield County Area! It’s always consistent, the drinks are fabulous (must try the spicy blood orange margarita if you haven’t already), the steak is cooked to perfection every time! Great date night spot. We love to sit at the bar and chat with the bartenders, staff is great!

Ive been a loyal customer here for over a decade. Every occasion worth celebrating I’ve eaten here. Birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries and dates.
This last weekend I wanted to celebrate my 30th birthday. I called and made a reservation two weeks ahead of time with Rob. On the night of, my party arrived here only to be informed “Rob works every here and there, he’s not consistent so maybe he lost your reservation.” Okay, no worries. Fifteen minutes later we got a table. Without asking us first, the staff went ahead and poured us close to a $100 worth of Saratogas
I asked for regular tap and I assumed that perhaps it was a miscommunication between the staff. Then we got charged for 2 extra short ribs and three extra margaritas. Rather than taking care of this and understanding. The manager of the Saturday shift threatened me with calling the police. Ontop of that I was automatically charged a 20% tip which I would be happy to pay sure if the service was good but it wasn’t. Constant miscommunications between staff, since we stepped in here. I feel scammed, and unless I publicly get an apology from the owner and last night comped I will never set foot in here again nor will any of my clients. I’ve spent probably close to $30,000 over the last five years here I deserve better

Always a great time here for top notch food in a laid back atmosphere. Best beef tartare I’ve had anywhere on earth.

The clams oreganata are not like your typical Italian restaurant. They’ve got texture. They’re crispy with texture vs mush.

We have been going to Sunday brunch for a few weeks and feel like VIP. Each and every time the food is on par. The service is amazing and Webster remembers us by name. I highly recommend this restaurant for service, food, atmosphere and hospitality. You will not be disappointed.
