I consistently go for their Burger Wednesday special which is likely a loss leader. The value is unsurpassed offering a half pound patty of locally sourced beef with fries for a price lower than fast food restaurants. The sole waitress Dee cheerfully handles the entire dining room efficiently no matter how crowded. Additionally they offer seasonal menu items made from local and specialty ingredients so there’s always something new to try.

We decided to try a new place for breakfast. We enjoyed our selections, cherry topped French toast (special), creamed chipped beef with home fries,, and cinnamon bun French toast. Everything was delicious. Quick and friendly service. Prices are very reasonable.

I took my 81 year old Dad here for his birthday breakfast, along with my step mom.
The food was good, nothing spectacular. Prices were fair. The waitress seemed irritated taking our orders. She did get friendlier throughout our interactions.
I’m only giving it an overall rating of one star because at the end of our meal as we were enjoying each other‘s company, drinking our cups of coffee, the host came to tell us it was time for us to leave. He needed the table. He can have that table because I will never go back to a place that rushes me through a meal and out the door.

The staff at Rockhill Filling make you feel like family. Always a smile on their faces even when it’s busy. We love going for breakfast but lunch and dinner are great too. Their eggs Benedict are the best around, but you can’t go wrong with the pancakes, or omelets either! They always have delicious lunch and dinner specials too.

What a great chef we found, the Duck was so delicious that I couldn’t stop to photograph it. All staff members are welcoming guests to the restaurant, even handicapped wheelchair guests. The sides are as good if not better than the main course. Even the bread is artisan. Lower prices because they only accept cash $!

My family of 4 went to Rockhill Filling Station for dinner. The staff was friendly and professional. The tables are a bit odd as they aren’t flat. The menu is basic American home style cooking. Everything was good and filling. The fried pickles weren’t quite my style, though, as they were actual dill pickle spears and were quite sour and mushy beneath the breading. The dill pickle slices work better for frying. I didn’t get to try any desserts this time, but they had a good list of them. There is handicapped parking and a ramp. Overall, it is a good local place to eat.

Saturday we went for lunch for the first time and we won’t be returning. The restaurant wasn’t very busy, maybe 6 customers/tables in the whole place, and we waited 15 minutes before anyone came to our table. When the waitress finally arrived, she seemed very irritated and overworked if I’ll be honest.
We ordered a kids meal, a sandwich and a crock of french onion soup. When it all finally arrived, I was disgusted because the waitress’ sweat was dripping from her hair onto our plates and onto our table. We should have left right then and there.

Let me put it this way. Anytime Im in this area visiting my family, I will go here to eat especially for their pancakes and their scrabble!! The pancakes are so fluffy you can use them as pillows and the scrabble is cooked to perfection! The coffee is awesome too! You are treated like family which I was the first day I went which was Monday! Get yourself to this diner and you will thank me….
