We looked up local restaurants and this place came up with a very good rating despite the comment that it was at the back of a gas station. You can get in through the gas station or a door on the left side of the building.
The two women working there were very friendly but were both too young to be “Grandma”. I asked if they could do a combo of some of their favorite items and they came out with a great looking meal. It tasted great and I was able to try each of their 3 sauces. I was looking for something home made and they delivered.
My wife was less adventurous and got the burger with fries and said how good the burger was.
This was a nice treat for us on our road trip from Boston to Austin.

Don’t miss out on this one! It’s tucked away in the back of the gas station and it was fantastic. Fresh cooked food with tons of flavor. ‘Grandma’ was very friendly and made sure we were taken care of. Dining area and kitchen were clean. They had Mexican and Guatemalan food. We had pupusas and empanadas.

If what y’all are looking for is amazing food, or fabulous service or a quaint atmosphere then you must come and give these folks a try! We tried the garnachas, empanadas, tacos, pupusas and carne asada and boy did they exceed every expectation! Doña Eva, nos dio mucho gusto almorzar en su local. Volveremos pronto; que Dios los bendiga.

WOW. I’ve never had pupusas before but my wife and I were looking for something different. Went to this place based on reviews and it was amazing. Also we ordered their lemonade and it was the freshest, most authentic lemonade I’ve ever had. Not the sugary stuff you get at a fair. Both ladies serving and cooking were great but not so good with English. Very minor. I will be back

I just had the Desayuno Chapín at Grandma’s Guatemalan Restaurant, and wow… it was absolutely incredible. From the first bite, you can taste the authenticity and love that goes into every dish. The flavors are bold yet comforting—eggs cooked perfectly, fresh plantains with just the right sweetness, creamy beans, and the homemade tortillas that tie it all together.
It felt like more than just a meal—it was an experience that brought me closer to the heart of Guatemalan culture. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and you really do feel like family when you’re here.
If you want a true taste of Guatemala, this is the place. The Desayuno Chapín is a must-try, and I can’t wait to come back and explore more of the menu. Highly recommend!

Excuse the picture of my Torta. I ate that thing before I realized it. Amazing food and the customer service was great. Recommended! Oh and the Agua de Horchata was also delicious.

Unbelievably authentic, excellent food for a reasonable price. Very clean, friendly, and relaxing place to eat. Go to the far back corner of the gas station. We will be back to try more on the menu!

Great food and they were very nice only thing was there was a miscommunication and only one of the three of us eating to go got food because they thought we were all together other than that amazing food was delicious (note it is in the back of a gas station that confused us for a sec)
