I was honestly disgusted. There is absolutely no excuse for something like that to make it past the washing and preparation process. A salad is supposed to be one of the freshest items on the menu, and seeing a dead insect on it immediately made me question the cleanliness of the kitchen and the quality control standards overall.
It completely ruined my appetite. I couldn’t even finish the meal because I kept wondering what else might have been missed. If that was visible enough for me to spot while eating, how did no one in the kitchen notice it while preparing the dish? It makes me concerned about how thoroughly the produce is being cleaned and inspected before being served to customers.
I understand that produce comes from farms and that occasional issues can happen, but that’s exactly why proper washing and inspection procedures are so important. As a paying customer, I expect basic food safety and attention to detail.
This experience was unsettling and disappointing. I hope management takes this seriously and improves their quality control, because something like this should never reach a customer’s table.
