I came from Chicago to Dearborn and I decided to try Shawarmaje Charcoal — and I’m so glad I did! The shawarma was amazing — tender, flavorful, and perfectly grilled with that real charcoal taste. Honestly, it’s better than a lot of shawarma places I’ve had back in Chicago. The place is clean, the staff are friendly, and the food quality really stands out. Definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area!

Now listen here… I am white , grew up in Dearborn been eating middle eastern long before it was trendy.( early80’s) Decided to try this place. At first thought it was a little pricey but after my hubs picked up the order, I understood. It was soo good. The sandwiches looked small to the eye at first , but so much meat. The fries were fresh and good… the pickles, peppers, veggies that we always beg for at other restaurants were all included. The falafel was fresh and really good. They included plenty of sauces. It was so damn good. Now, I am not an easy sell, and I know my food, but I am a believer. We will definitely be back.I asked for paper menus because I work for DPS… I would have shared. They didn’t have any, but I will encourage others to try this local business. Soo good! BRAVO

A Must-Try for Charcoal Shawarma Lovers!
I recently visited Shawarmaje and was completely impressed. If you’re searching for an authentic shawarma experience, this is the place. The standout dish is, without a doubt, their charcoal shawarma.
The flavor from the charcoal grill is incredible and makes a huge difference. The meat was perfectly cooked—tender, juicy, and with a delicious smoky taste that you just can’t get anywhere else. Everything tasted fresh, from the warm pita to the crisp vegetables and flavorful garlic sauce.
The staff was friendly and the service was quick. Overall, it was a fantastic meal. If you love shawarma, you have to try the charcoal version at Shawarmaje. I highly recommend it!

only ordered one Shawarma. Took quite a while to get it. My wife ❤️❤️ said she loved it. Staff was very nice. Very clean. Be careful going through the front door. There’s a ramp that you Could possibly roll your ankle like My wife did. They need to fix that somehow. We will definitely go back

We had delicious chicken shawarma last night. I’ll have to try the beef next time because they were out but we were there very late and that’s a sign of a good restaurant that sells out every day and serves fresh food. The owner was very pleasant and welcoming. Thank you for the delicious food and excellent service

I was really excited to try this place, but I was a bit disappointed. The shawarma meat wasn’t warm, and the part I liked the least was the bread — it was a basic Mexican tortilla instead of authentic shawarma bread. For a shawarma spot, I expected something more traditional. The service was great though, and the staff were very friendly.

They’re ok, but a bit too expensive. I can get a shawarma bigger with a drink for around $10, here it was around $12.80 for a slightly thinner shawarma, so definitely a bit expensive. Also, they need a bigger inside area for seating, really isn’t much dine-in.
Nevertheless, they have good food, the customer service was fairly straightforward and fast. The food was clean and it was a very good shawarma, (not that I haven’t tried better, because I have) but all in all, not bad.
