Reviews
I love Torung Thai food restaurant and the servers are very sweet, too. A few of the same servers a chefs are still there
PS.
This dining establishment is CASH ONLY.
10/17/22: Had the fried fish with chili garlic sauce. Was perfectly fried and the sauce had a great fresh flavor.
10/20/22: Had the War soup which is a Thai Chinese soup. Great flavor especially when you add some of their vinegary hot sauce. I like that they serve it in a special bowl with a fire to keep it hot. Fried banana was very good too.
3/9/23: Had the Tom Kha with chicken, medium spiciness. Was good but they only put chicken, lemongrass, basil and green chilies. Would be nice if they put some vegetables in there.
2/10/25: Had the Yellow Crab Curry (excellent) and the pad Thai (decent but a bit too sweet)
I really wanted to like this restaurant — the food looked good, and I came in hoping for a nice meal. Unfortunately, the experience was far from what I expected, and it all came down to the service.
I ordered several dishes, including a Pad Thai with extra shrimp. When my food arrived, I immediately noticed it didn’t look like there was an extra order added. I politely mentioned it to the server, but instead of handling it professionally, she actually came to my table and started counting the shrimp on my plate. I was honestly shocked — not only is that unsanitary, but it just felt so disrespectful.
She said the regular Pad Thai comes with six shrimp and the extra order adds another six. After counting, she found eleven and told me only one was missing. Then she asked if I had already eaten one because, according to her, the cook insisted he had added all the extra shrimp. I hadn’t even touched my food yet. That comment really bothered me — it felt like she was implying I was lying.
A few minutes later, she brought me one tiny shrimp on a small plate, completely unseasoned, and just walked away. From that point on, she barely checked on our table, even though the restaurant was practically empty. It made the whole meal uncomfortable, and honestly, I lost my appetite.
I still left a decent tip because I understand times are hard, but this experience left me disappointed and a bit disgusted. I’ve eaten at so many restaurants and have never seen someone handle a customer concern this way. That’s just unacceptable!
To the owner — please take this as honest feedback. The food was decent, but your staff needs better training in how to treat customers with respect. No one should have their plate touched or be made to feel like they’re being accused of lying over something as simple as a missing shrimp. This restaurant has potential, but that kind of service really ruins it.
Excellent Thai food at very reasonable prices. Service was personable and food was delivered fast. Had the Soup and Crab Fried rice. Crispy and tasty. Parking is difficult to find nearby.
