I can see why this is a local Hotspot! My fiancé and I were passing through and love trying local places over chain anything. When we pulled into the parking lot, we could tell this was going to be just what we needed after a rough night. It was like going to the cool aunts house for brunch who favorite animal is a moose and loves to hike and explore! We were greeted with nice smiles from the staff and they gave us some wonderful recommendations on coffees and that they can make just about anything you’d like. They have so many great options! It was hard to choose just one but I wanted to try them all! We tried the brother bear (high local favorite) and the shire both on ice with bacon, egg, and cheese on bagels. They were HEAVENLY!!! While waiting for our food to be made, we walked around and looked at all the cool posters and boards on the walls. They even have a little station with tons of game to choose from if you choose to hang out for a while. They sell merch and coffee all themed around different west virginian facts and legends. I snagged a bag of the John Henry and Mothman whole bean coffee and can’t wait to try them at home. They have a mini golf course and an indoor rock climbing place in the back. We didn’t get to try them but they had a wall mural of the mini golf course and I loved all the west virginian themed holes! 11/10 place for breakfast or lunch for the whole family served with a genuine smile!!

We stop here every year on our way to Ohio. We always love the service, the coffee, and the ice cream. The sandwiches have good meat and cheese but check to make sure your order is correct!

We loved getting breakfast here! They have a great selection of coffees – I got tiramisu which was AMAZING and tasted just like the dessert without being too sweet – and a small breakfast menu of bagel sandwiches (avocado, egg, and bacon was good). The staff are also very nice, and the atmosphere is super cool (regional history, great artwork, board games, and more). Wish we could have stayed longer to play mini golf.

Unless locals are willing to wait 30 mins for a cappuccino, I don’t think they will stay in business. The place is a coffee shop in the front and an ice cream shop in the back. There is ONE person that works both sides, taking and making the orders as well as doing check out. We stood at the counter for 10 solid mins before walking around back and asking for someone to take our coffee order. Finally a girl came around to the coffee side, finished making a bagel and to start our order which took another 15 mins to make 2 cappuccinos. We love to support locals but I can’t wait half an hour to get a cup of coffee.
It’s also a big red flag when a business does not reply to any of their online reviews.

We were staying nearby and went to get a coffee the first day. Very impressed with the selection and golf, climbing activities there. Went back second day for some sweet drinks and playing mini golf. Super cool place, friendly staff and one of the best coffees we ever had.

The Chocolate Moose is the best local place to visit! They accept Hope Scholarship for their rock climbing gym and offer dairy free ice cream! Their staff is phenomenal, making the experience even better. 10/10 recommend.

This place was seriously cool! Between the climbing gym and the mini golf, we were honestly blown away — I wasn’t expecting it to be so big. The miniature golf course was surprisingly expansive, winding down the hill and offering some great views. There’s also a beautiful deck out back that adds to the vibe.
The staff were all incredibly sweet and seemed genuinely excited that we had discovered this hidden gem. We even got to meet the resident cat (didn’t catch his name, but he was just as friendly as everyone else)!
We ordered two coffees: a hot caramel latte and a dark chocolate mocha with a hint of orange — both were absolutely delicious. For food, he went with a breakfast bagel loaded with avocado, bacon, and egg, and he devoured it. I wasn’t in the mood for breakfast, so I got a lunch bagel with turkey, bacon, cheese, and lettuce — super fresh, crispy, and totally satisfying.
Big thanks to everyone at Chocolate Moose — we’ll definitely be back, and I highly recommend it to anyone passing through!

Fun coffee shop with great chai latte with non-dairy milk. Lots of customers ages 16-25. My husband and I are older adults who enjoyed the friendly atmosphere. Ice cream is available in the back

Very pleasantly surprised. All the flavors seemed very well thought out and intentional. There is usually only one flavor that I want to try at a coffee shop, but I wish I could’ve tried multiple here. Sadly we were only passing through. Excellent service and staff — they were very kind!! The atmosphere did not entirely feel intentional and the pulled espresso shots were slightly bitter, which made us not give 5 stars, but the coffee was delicious otherwise! We’d definitely go back if we could!
