Stopped by here for an affordable lunch on our way down 30A. It’s a little off the route but well worth the detour!
We had their steak Philly and gyro and fries and they were both amazing.
The meat and the Philly was very tender. Aunt, the steak just melted in your mouth chopped very fine. It was very flavorful and the bread was very soft but had a delicious toastedness.
The Euro was probably the best I’ve ever tasted. The meat was seasoned perfectly and seared to perfection with the perfect ratio of meat to toppings including fresh tzatziki and feta.
The fries were also cooked to perfection with a tasty seasoning and the best fry sauce ever! Reminiscent of Cane’s sauce.
Additionally, the owner of the restaurant is incredibly nice and treats you as instant friends. The moment you walk through the door, he’s very caring and provided exceptional service and attention to detail. Needless to say, we were very happy to stumble upon this sandwich shop and will be certain to find out way back!

Great Mexicali Smash Burger – A 30A Must-Try!
If you’re looking for a solid burger on 30A, South of Philly is definitely worth the stop. I recently tried the Mexicali Smash Burger, and it was excellent.
The flavors were bold, the patty had a great sear, and the seasoned fries were the perfect crispy side to go with it.
Being a bit of a smash burger enthusiast, I have to say that the grill at the Hammock Bay General Store still holds the title for the absolute best smash burger in the area—it’s hard to beat that one.
However, South of Philly is a very close contender and a fantastic local option when you’re on this side of the bridge.
Great service, fresh ingredients, and a really satisfying meal. Definitely recommend checking them out!

Staying at a near by rental and picked this place based on prior reviews and food pictures. I have to saw that the whole family was very happy with our meals! I was very happy with my Philly Cheesesteak which rarely happens so great job. Another surprise was the awesome atmosphere of the place! I was surrounded by singed pictures from my childhood which was a great bonus, I highly recommend this place for a quick lunch! I had the opportunity to meet the owner great guy! Will be back before the vacation is over for sure.

Wow. So delicious. Get the 8 inch Philly with mushrooms & jalapeños, and it did not disappoint! Be sure to add that Philly sauce on there. Amazing. Keep it up yall! Wish yall were closer to home for me to eat all the time. My only critique is I would have liked the mushrooms to be sautéed with a sear but still a very crave-able Philly.

This place is awesome! Food was absolutely amazing. We split the old fashion hamburger and the Philly. You can sit inside or outside. This place will become a staple on our trips to 30A. Parking was easy as they have a shared lot.

We frequently get food at South of Philly and can’t speak highly enough about their cheesesteaks, wings, and cookies! Recently we elected to use South of Philly to cater our post baptism celebration and were so thrilled with the experience! All of our guests were ecstatic to see we went with South of Philly and went on and on about how phenomenal the food was. I was afraid I ordered too much food but our guests made sure not even a fry was left behind! Patrick was so wonderful to work with and couldn’t have been more accommodating with our requests! If you’re looking for someone to cater an event South of Philly should be on the top of your list!
