No words can describe this Dive Bar. Many described it as an “experience” and it was just that. You need to make the trip if possible as you can’t make it up with out being there yourself. Merele was very apprehensive at first as 4 out of towners came in looking for a beer. She opened up pretty quickly and gave us a history lesson of the bar, town and her family. Larry was there in his chair since what was described as he was 3 years old. We also met Cheeks, make sure to ask how she got her nickname. We didn’t get to meet Wayne, as he was at a “town meeting”. The beer was the coldest beer we have drank and enjoined our 30 minute conversation and hospitality. When we left we immediately sanitized and went on our way. Highly recommend this if you are into Dive Bars. This wins! #BucketList

Stopped on our way to Sand Valley for a boys weekend. Needed a cold one and a little something to eat.
PBR was cold and refreshing and went great with the vintage Slim Jim’s and Pork Rinds. Those are probably carry overs from the 1970s so they were the real deal, not the newer ones with the bad fats and corn syrup.
The service was great and came with a history lesson about the bar and the area. Make sure to ask about Ed Gein, he was from around there!
The atmosphere is a little crowded. When we arrived there were two other people there so only one available seat at the bar. They left shortly after we arrived so we had the place to ourselves on a Thurs afternoon.
The bartender told us she wanted us to read an article she had saved. So she entered the storage area to the right of the bar and dug around for about 4 seconds, 8 feet in and 2 feet deep and pulled out that piece of paper. I’m not sure what filing system they use, but it’s better than the Dewey Decimal System used in libraries. They should patent it!

White Creek Tavern, founded in 1933, was BY FAR the divey-est dive bar I’ve EVER been to in my life, and I love me a good dive bar! The bartender seemed a little off put when we first walked in, however we started talking and she started telling us the history of the bar and her family, showed us her scrapbook of her family basically growing up in the bar and the buildings around the area and we ended up staying for a good hour-ish or so talking with her and her brothers. It was a very cool experience!
Not only that, my husband had money on the bar ($25) that was apparently under the scrapbook she was showing us, so as we were about to leave the parking lot, she came out to tell us she found it under the scrapbook after we had already left her a tip, so we gave her even more for her honesty!
It pays to be kind!

One of Wisconsins Best Dive Bars. They just had there 90th anniversary. 3rd Generation owners. They have horder tendencies and only 6-7 stools open at 1/2 the bar. The other half is consumed with junk. Meryl the daughter is stand offish at first but when you start talking to her she will share her family history with you. She is a sweetheart

You have to see it to belive it…. hording to a tee, and fungus knots everywhere. If you have plants in your home, you most likely have them also. But it’s??? Well stop in and say hello. Make your own conclusion! The 3 family members that live in the bar and sit around are nice… well 1 guy talks to ya, the other 1 (Sister) just stares in silence…. the older brother looks like a maniquin in the corner. You know it’s not cause he’s breathing….. ugh

If you have never experienced life, go here. Wayne is an awsome man that will tell you the history of the whole place, and there is a lot. Never judge a places or people either.

Words cannot explain the uniqueness of this place! I think someone could sit at the front door and charge admission. The place is unreal. I have no idea how they have ever passed a health inspection. Fruit fly poison lines the bar – probably close to 100 little bottles. To be honest, the place is gross. What is absolutely astonishing though, is that it has been open and running for so many years and still attracts customers. I think it has become almost a tourist destination. You will never see anything like it again. Promise!
