This place has the feel of a retro diner with a menu spread out for everyone. From the old gas pump in the entrance to all the photos on the walls, it just gives that feel.
Be aware the portions are large. The Italian soup had as many meatballs than some places serve with spaghetti. The gyro meat obviously was right off the spicket. We absolutely love this restaurant! Great background music, awesome nostalgic atmosphere and one of the best Friday night fish frys we have ever had! We especially love the panko breaded! Great potato pancakes too! Excellent prices as well!! If you haven’t tried it, you are definitely missing out! BTW Friday is the only day they are open later! (7pm)

Talk about your classic diner. If you are anywhere near Caledonia/Racine, you need to stop in. Had a great brunch there today. Locals love thus place. Grace, our server, was great.

It’s hit or miss at DD. Atmosphere/decor is cool! We’ve been here a few times, and this is the 2nd time onions arrived in the old mans hashbrowns. We would have had to call 911 if he consumed an onion. That’s how serious his allergy is. The waitress acknowledged & wrote down the onion allergy again on his order. The 1st time, months ago, the hash browns were replaced. The most recent time, the waitress acknowledged & seen the onions, took the plate, didn’t offer a replacement for the hash browns & left with it. We assumed that a fresh order was coming as she was mumbling walking away. After 15 min of waiting at our table (it was a slow part of the day) we left the table to pay. He told the cashier what happened & she shrugged it off. There’s nothing like paying full price for a meal u didn’t get to eat half of & getting served your severe allergy on your food. We personally won’t be going back. Recommendation for any allergy people, state it twice, check your food, & get firm with a replacement as they EASILY make errors. Shame…

This was our second time there and the food is very good. Today was busier than last time, but we attributed that to another restaurant nearby closing down this past week. Still service was friendly and attentive. The diner was packed, but understandably so because they offer good food and a fair value. The atmosphere is fun and nostalgic. We will be back and would recommend this place to others. Had a club sandwich with fries, an omelette with hash browns, and ice water and a coffee and spent $32.26.

placed an order for pick up *directly through their website*. received notification it was ready for pickup. when I got there the hostess couldn’t find my order. she talked to who I assume the manager is, came back and repeated that they did not have my order. I pulled up the notifications and receipt on my phone and confirmed I was at the right place. she once again says we don’t have that order. ok… well can you explain the charge that went through? she talks to her manager and says it’ll be ready in 10 minutes. no apologies or anything…
ordered a side of “fresh” vegetables for $4 and got a couple pieces of broccoli and carrots. way overpriced and they didnt look especially appetizing. the Styrofoam from my takeout box melted because of the hot food. the country fried steak was drenched in a thick gravy, I could barely even eat it. the sausage links were the already cooked frozen ones I have in my freezer at home, obviously not fresh.
the chocolate chip pancakes were ok but for the high price, low quality food…I would never come back here.

We went there for lunch and had the salmon. It was amazing. We have also gone there for breakfast, which was also amazing so if you’re ever around or no matter where you live it’s well worth the drive to eat at This diner. The atmosphere takes you back to the good old days and also the music is amazing. We have never had a bad meal there. The customers and the owners are super friendly. It is one of the cleanest diners we have been to thank you guys for having an amazing place to dine. Keep up the good work. God bless.

We stopped in for a bite and were so glad we did! We had the tuna melt, a burger, and a waffle with bacon; everything was absolutely delicious. You can tell they care about the food they serve. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, with that classic diner vibe that just feels good. Service was top-notch, friendly, attentive, and made the experience even better, thank you Grace! Highly recommend this spot if you’re looking for great food and great vibes!
