We shared the wedge salad and Fire Engine 10 burger. The salad and burger came out together. The salad was average, the pork rinds were an odd topping. The burger was fine. Nothing amazing. It seemed to be a premade patty. Overall it was a good meal and we enjoyed our evening out.
Let’s start with the positives. The Brussels sprout appetizer was solid. Nicely cooked with good flavor and not over-seasoned like you find at some places. The side salad was fine—fresh but forgettable.
Now the entrees. I ordered the Fig & the Pig burger, which sounded promising. I love the idea of a fig spread on a burger, and that part was actually tasty. But the patty? It tasted like a frozen burger—dry, flavorless, and uninspired. The bun was just as generic. In the end, it was a boring burger on a boring bun, barely saved by a swipe of fig spread and some bacon.
Others at my table had the meatloaf (dry and boring), a Caesar salad with chicken (only slightly better than the side salad), and a few other dishes that were equally bland.
In short, Crafted feels more like a place that looks good on Instagram than one that actually delivers on flavor.
They honestly have the best wings around in my opinion! They recently started a deal where if you dine in on a weekday they’re like almost half price. They use to have a rootbeer flavor I loved but now they have hundread proof and it’s just as good! I’ve also had their beef and cheddar and honestly, don’t know if I can eat and Arby’s one again after having that. The crab nachos, pretzel, crab dip, and burgers are good too.
Not to mention the cocktails are 10/10, they don’t call it crafted for no reason. Sometimes they have public events going on and brunch on Sunday, haven’t checked it out but I hear great things.
The surrounding area of Libbie mill is beautiful and fun to walk around. Do yourself a favor and come here the next time you’re debating on where to go!
The owner, and or manager who wrote the reply to my review, apparently can not handle constructive criticism.
The food we ate, was actually good as noted in the review, but a large portion of the menu was not available, hence “3” on the food. The service was not great, but as noted that was due to a staffing issue, more than the server herself. She was covering way too much by herself with no help, hence the “2” for service
In other words, the issues I brought up are a reflection of how the establishment is managed. If you want better reviews, earn them, don’t expect participation awards, and don’t act like a twit when you aren’t given them.
Atmosphere rating lowered from 3 to 1 simply due to the owner/ managers response, obviously this place is toxic.
(Original review, unchanged) Maybe just bad timing but half the entrees menu wasn’t available, and it was understaffed. What I ate was great, but I had hoped for something else on the menu. Service wasn’t good, but that was more due to the staffing, not the server
The amount of arugula was perfectly balanced with the balsamic vinaigrette, shrimp, onion, watermelon and cheese.
The grill cheese is excellent and the fries are very good.
Brunch is served on Sundays. We enjoyed it.
Excellent sweet tea. One of the places I give 10 out 10. Make sure the tea is served cold.
Stopped by for lunch. Got the Midtown sandwich, my wife got the chips and queso, my son a grill cheese.
Sweet Tea: 10 out of 10
Service was not great. We were told we would have 3 waitresses, but we only saw one. She was friendly, but not attentive. We had to wait for water refills, wait for sauces. She didn’t tell us that there was a charge for additional sauce, which I’ve NEVER seen at a restaurant like this. $23 for a small chicken fillet that wasn’t even big enough to use on a sandwich, a little mac and cheese and some collards. That wasn’t enough, so they charged extra for a small cup of hot sauce. I just wanted a bottle of Texas Pete.
Also, the menu doesn’t mention that burgers and sandwiches come with fries, but they do. My son ordered waffle fries with his burger, not realizing they came with standard fries, which he was fine with. It was only after further questioning that she told us his burger came with regular fries and waffle fries would cost extra.
Crafted has great reviews and there are other items on the menu I would be interested in trying, but based on my experience, I would be hesitant to return.
