First off, I commend The Fireside Bar & Restaurant for being kind and supportive to give to this important local cause.
Secondly, our visit was outstanding for numerous reasons. The first being, right off the bat we were greeted with smiles and kindness, followed by efficiency.
So often when entering a restaurant these days, the basics of service are nowhere to be found. Didn’t happen here. Service and friendliness were excellent and genuine.
Secondly, the they have an all day happy hour every day that starts the $$ visit off in the right column. You can get a decent adult beverage without exceeding or equaling what you spend on food if you choose to do so.
Thirdly, the menu choices are familiar enough to find your favorites, but unique enough to be intriguing. The Asian Shortrib Bowl was amazing!
The atmosphere is welcoming and down to earth, including a comfortable outdoor patio.
We will definitely be back, and we’ll be recommending Fireside Restaurant & Bar to family and friends. Give it a try–you’ll be glad you did!!!
It’s a family friendly place with a lot of different items on the menu. They’ve got wine, beer, and cocktails as well. At first look/arrival we were already excited to come back with our kids. (It’s also really cool because currently it looks into the hockey rink next-door. I believe the hockey wink is going away, but it’s still a cool concept. Very Minnesotan.)
After ordering, we had to wait about 25 minutes for food, which in my opinion, on a non-busy day, is a long time. Our waitress was very nice and did seem to understand when to check back.
Unfortunately, things to return when the food arrived. My husband ordered the Korean Bulgogi bowl, and I ordered the French dip sandwich. Neither of us enjoyed our meal. Presentation was decent, But they were major issues with each meal. I do wanna say that we are not food snobs— We don’t go out often and don’t usually go to fancy restaurants. We’re big fans of pub and American restaurant style foods as well as Asian foods. Being Asian ourselves, we do have a higher Standard for Asian cuisine because we make it ourselves at home. The Bulgogi, Korean beef bowl way too salty, and the rice was soggy and soaked in the soy/oyster sauce. My husband had expected the kimchi to actually be immersed in the rice, but it was not. He ended up eating only the beef and a few spoons of rice bad nothing else. This is the first time we’ve left food uneaten at any restaurant before. The French dip seasoning was decent, and the tater tot’s were fried nicely. The meal broke apart when it came to the bread. The bread Was too light and fluffy and closer to the lines of a hotdog bun. It wasn’t strong enough to hold the sandwich together and it made it very difficult to eat. It came looking a little mushy, but I disregarded it and decided to give it a shot. Definitely tasted just like it looked.
Although I believe it, it’s a great place that a lot of people gather to hang out, the food is just okay. Not worth the price, in my opinion. Maybe we just got unlucky and pitched the two worst dishes on the menu… Walking away with the $45 bill and only really liking tater tots is a little sad. We will not be returning. Sad as this location is really close to us and could’ve been a family hotspot.
