Firstly want to shoutout the hostess that tolerated us that night. We had a moderate size party and a few people took a while to come but she still checked in on us after giving us a room. 10/10 customer service. The food was well done. Heavily sauced wings, great rolls and crisp fries. Multiple Soju flavors. The atmosphere fits the aesthetic the place gives. It’s built for drinking and karaoke and reminds me of the karaoke places I would see in some of my favorite slice of life animes

The food here is alright but they do give you a lot of it so it is a pretty good value. Good spot to drink a ton of soju and have fun chats with friends. We tried the Kimchi Pajeon, the K-pop Fries, and the Chili Cream Chicken which I all thought were just okay. Maybe I enjoyed the K-pop fries a bit more because I liked the fries and kimchi together.

Soju 101 was such a good time for me. I tried their potato twisters and the cheesy buldak and guys… YUM, both were so good I couldn’t stop eating. We did have to wait a while before anyone came to take our order, but the staff made up for it with how friendly and helpful they were once they got to us. The vibe inside was lively but still comfortable, and it felt like the kind of place where you can actually relax and enjoy your night. I’d honestly come back just for those dishes alone.

I had such a genuinely positive experience at Soju 101 and felt like it deserved a thoughtful review. From the moment I walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and comfortable, and the service truly stood out. There was a young Asian employee who helped me at the counter, and he was incredibly kind and patient throughout the entire interaction. I was actually a dollar short when paying, which was a little embarrassing, but he handled it so graciously and reassured me in such a calm and understanding way. Instead of making it awkward, he was respectful and genuinely helpful, which made the experience even more meaningful. It’s small acts of kindness like that which really show how much a place values its customers. The overall service was attentive, polite, and efficient, and it left a lasting impression. I would absolutely recommend this place to anyone looking not only for great food but also for truly great customer service.

My companion and I were visiting Houston from out of town and found this karaoke place online while looking for something fun to do. We submitted a reservation request for two people at 9 PM through the website the day before.

The reservation page clearly says that a staff member will contact you by phone or text to confirm the reservation. However, no one ever contacted us.

When we arrived, a staff member asked if someone had called us earlier and we told him no. He then explained that weekend karaoke reservations require six or more people, but the website actually states five or more people, which was already confusing.

One employee kindly tried to help and told us we could wait for the 10 PM slot, so we waited about an hour. When that time came, the manager told us that reservations under the required group size could not be accommodated after all.

Shortly after that, employees mentioned that a party of eleven had canceled, meaning a room had opened up, but we were still asked to wait again. At that point we had already waited twice, so we decided to leave.

Before leaving, one of the waitresses recommended another karaoke place called Hongdae, which we appreciated, but it was honestly surprising that an employee from this business suggested we go somewhere else because they couldn’t accommodate us.

The biggest issue here seems to be the reservation system and communication. The form still allows smaller groups to submit requests even though the policy requires larger parties, and we were never contacted as the website says we would be. Situations like this waste customers’ time and create unnecessary confusion.

We were genuinely excited to try this place while visiting Houston, so it was disappointing that the experience turned out this way.

Hopefully management reviews the reservation process so future customers don’t run into the same situation.

I’m usually very lenient when it comes to restaurants and try to give places the benefit of the doubt, but I still think about how terrible my experience was at Soju 101.

From the start, the younger woman who helped set my friend and me up with a karaoke room was extremely rude and seemed like she didn’t even want to be there. It took an abnormally long time to get us situated, and once we were seated, I asked a few simple questions and she acted visibly annoyed, even rolling her eyes. We weren’t being difficult at all — just asking normal questions you’d expect from first-time customers.

The situation got much worse with the food. I’m Muslim, so I’m very careful about pork. I ordered fries that normally come with meat and very clearly emphasized that I wanted everything EXCEPT meat and absolutely no pork. When the order came out, I immediately noticed there was meat on it. I brought it back to her, and she looked at it and told me it was NOT meat and handed it back instead of simply offering to remake it.

I tried to trust her and took a bite, only to realize it actually was pork. Religiously, that completely goes against what I follow, and what upset me most is that I had double-checked with her first. Even then, I stayed calm and polite, but the issue was never properly fixed. I wasn’t refunded, wasn’t given a replacement, and still had to pay full price. She also charged us extra fees and couldn’t even clearly explain what the extra charge was for. On top of that, there weren’t many songs or choices available in the karaoke system, so the experience didn’t feel worth it at all. The food was also extremely overpriced — especially for something as simple as an order of fries.

Overall, the service was dismissive, careless, and incredibly disappointing. I would not recommend this place to anyone. There are many better karaoke spots in the Chinatown / Bellaire area — for example, I’ve had great experiences at Happy Zone KTV and other nearby venues.

Sadly, this was one of the worst customer service experiences I’ve had at a restaurant, and I won’t be returning.

Great Korean place. We wanted something “small and easy” since we were meeting up for dessert later with friends. It was so good we still over ate, but no regrets. Will go back and try more of the many yummy looking and smelling food.

Absolutely one of the worst spots in the area.
1. The food was mediocre, kimchi fries were seasoned and sauced up yet had 0 flavor. The bulgogi plate was just so flavorless, not to mention both me and my partner got food poisoning the next day.

2. The service: we reserved for 10pm karaoke room, just to be told at 9:50, that their staff messed up and gave our reservation to somebody else. We understood mistakes happen so we waited for 11. Another group comes in last minute and again, they try to give our slot away. At that point we were so upset and the only thing they did was give us $10 off our two hour appointment.
3. The karaoke room: a literal 59 degree room that has so many audio issues. We spent the first 20 minutes trying to connect to their laggy YouTube tv, along with the mics constantly going out. Staff came in a few times but the connection continued to stay poor. For $60/hr you’d expect everything ready to go.

0/10 experience, and would not recommend. Stay away!

I came in with a group to eat dinner with a group and sat at 2 different tables back to back. My table ordered first, and I pointed to the photos of the items we wanted to order. The waitress who took our order acknowledged everything as she wrote it down before I moved to the next photo item.

Here are a few things that could have been better:

1. The steamed egg did not come out looking like the photo. We kindly asked the waitress to take it back, but there was some initial resistance from her.

2. We asked about the status of an item (beef intestine) and were met with an attitude from the waitress. She stated we never ordered it, but two of us at the table pointed at the photo when ordering.

This was where her customer service would give the business 1 star because instead of taking any accountability or kindly apologizing for forgetting (it happens), she got frustrated with us and argued that we never ordered it.

3. Corn cheese was the first item we ordered, and it never came out until we asked another server. His response was a lot better than the waitress’s and he handled the request politely.

4. We also placed an order for chicken wings, which didn’t arrive at our table. I’m going to assume it was combined with the other table, but we already told the waitress we have 2 separate tabs.

5. We asked for a side of kimchi and the waitress gave us a bowl of kimchi that also had rice grains inside… so it was either a used bowl from another table or it was never cleaned. That was kind of fowl..

6. To wrap it all up, the AC was broken, so it was also really hot inside.

This isn’t the first time I’ve been here and honestly, I didn’t like it the last time but I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. Customer service is everything, especially when there is conflict, there are always better ways to resolve it without attitudes.
