My husband and I came for our anniversary that happened to be around Valentine’s Day. We took advantage of their Valentine’s Day special menu. Most of the food was amazing! There was a little bit too much nutmeg in the cheese, though it did not make it inedible, and the salmon was a little fishy. We were delighted to see rose petals and balloons at our table when we arrived. We even got a photo taken and were able to take it home in a frame provided.
The highlight of the evening was our server, Jordan. They made the whole experience fun and the courses run smoothly. We even got to toast our marshmallows over the flambé fire in our chocolate course. We would definitely go back again in the future, especially if we could have Jordan as our server again.
We live in town so we’re familiar with the area the restaurant is in. There is free street parking and a parking garage fairly close to the restaurant.

My wife and I absolutely love coming here, especially just to sit at the bar. The atmosphere is cozy and romantic, perfect for winding down and reconnecting. The staff is always fantastic — friendly, attentive, and they really make you feel welcome every time.
Their new happy hour is a game changer! Amazing prices on drinks and select bites without compromising on quality or experience. Whether you’re doing a full fondue dinner or just grabbing cocktails and cheese/chocolate at the bar, it’s always a great time.

We have gone here a couple times in the past and always had a lovely experience! That’s why I was fairly disappointed going this past weekend. There were three of us in my party, so of course we paid extra for the fondue for the third person, but it did not seem like we actually got enough fondue for three. Over the years the Melting Pot has always provided complimentary extra dippers after the first plate, but this time we were informed we would be charged for a second plate of dessert dippers. We still had about half of our fondue left after running out of the first plate (again, there were three of us). I will also add that there were long wait times, even with the reservation we had made in advance. The Melting Pot used to feel like a fun, special treat, but now it just doesn’t feel worth it, considering how much you pay and how little we were fed.

I have been to several Melting Pot locations over the years and always enjoy rhe experience. We have a 1 year old and 2 year old, so when we started planning our anniversary alone, I felt like this would be the perfect setting- and it did not disappoint!
My hubby had never been, so I was a little unsure if he would enjoy, but he continued to talk about it all night. We made the hour drive from Culpeper just for the experience. We also loved how tucked away and private our booth was, with rose petals, candles, and a card from the staff. It really made us feel alone in the restaurant- I even asked if they were always this calm thinking we were the only ones in the restaurant (when we got up to leave that was not the case).
We went all out- even did the double dippers and were happy to help our server win a challenge for that! Our server Eli (or E) was fantastic… knowledge, quick to bring what we needed, but without hovering. The hostess was also super helpful- I dropped my phone behind the booth and she caught us searching- she had no problem jumping in and climbing/digging to grab it. We are so appreciative of the entire staff.

What an amazing experience this was! The food was great, especially the herb crusted chicken, delicious, along with the sage and lemon berry iced tea, amazing. Our server Demi was so helpful and funny, it was a great time from beginning to end. I left so full and satisfied, I look forward to my next trip there, I want to try the other combinations they offer. Awesome place!

Jordan our server was excellent. He assisted us with choices and was very attentive. That was the highlight of my first dinner eating fondue. The food was alright but definitely not worth $160 dollars. The steak had so much pepper in it that I couldn’t taste the steak. The other food was good but nothing that I couldn’t do at home with sauce pan and some ingredients from the grocery store for a quarter of the price. The restaurant interior seemed a little dated but I can say the redeeming quality for the interior was that we saw at least 4 nativity scenes in the windows. Bottom line is if they would lower the prices, not season the food so much, and possibly brighten parts of the interior (and continue to follow God) I will be willing to try it again.

Usually I don’t do reviews but I’m just very disappointed and upset. Made a earlyish reservation weeks ago for Valentine’s Day for my 5 year old daughter and I. I’m a single mom and can’t afford a lot but I knew I’d be able to split some chocolate and cheese fondues for us and take her on a special valentines date (which she’s been so excited about). Got a call three weeks before Valentine’s Day (Wednesday night) stating that the menu is at a set price for this day at 100 dollars per person and if I wasn’t able to afford it or wasn’t able call back by Saturday than my reservation would be cancelled. When I made the reservation there was nothing stated about the set menu. Needless to say I’m upset with this, I understand every business is about making money but I planned way ahead so I could make my daughters Valentine’s Day special. And now I have to scramble to find another restaurant that can accommodate us and doesn’t already have a full reservation list.

As restaurant owner it is difficult to get away from the business to enjoy an evening out, so when we do get the luxury we want something special. With a birthday to celebrate we ventured to Charlottesville to celebrate with a leisurely dinner at The Melting Pot. As always the meal was excellent, but our server Jordan is what made our experience and the birthday celebration extraordinary. He was accommodating, attentive, sociable, funny, engaging and gave excellent recommendations. Jordan is an excellent server and we thank him for making our time at the Melting Pot special. We will absolutely be back and certainly hope that we are lucky enough to have Jordan as our server again.
