The little shopping centre at Baxter is a bit out the way but when we stay in Frankston it is well worth the trip. We’ve been here five times now and never disappointed as we work our way through the menu (although it’s almost impossible to go past the samosas which are the best we have ever tasted!). The various regional dishes are all delicious. The wine list is seriously underwhelming, so stick to the beer, or grab a bottle from the shop next door. I suspect they have a brilliant chef out the back. They deserve to do well. We’ll keep coming back.

Terrible. We have been going to Indian Mahal for years and it has always been mine and my wife’s family’s favourite takeaway Indian, but not anymore.
We had it about 5 weeks ago and it was below average for what we are used to, so we gave it another go on Friday night. It was terrible. We will not be going back, and neither will my wife’s family.
I can only assume there are new owners because I do not understand how the food can drop off so badly after being consistently good for so long. We were told it would be a 20 min wait and ended up waiting 50 mins.

But tonight was let down , the cheese nan was hard and and the Rogan Josh was so oily ,
Said pay with cash and driver had no change

Came in to collect my order, that was ordered online. Was told it wasn’t ready yet. Proceeded to sit and wait for 30 minutes only to be told it had been sitting there waiting at the front counter (which the gentleman serving me had checked when I gave him my name) THE WHOLE TIME. ARGH! Hopeless service. Pretty sure they are zapping it in the microwave when they told me a new order would be ready in 2 minutes. No offer of money back, or any sort of compensation. Disappointing! Food was fine, but the experience has left a bitter taste in my mouth… 🙁

Usually enjoy a takeaway from here but ordered for 6pm and it was ready at 650pm. While waiting for collection the restaurant customers were also complaining as poor service .
Once home the curry was so oily and greasy and the garlic naan looked like they had just chucked the garlic on , the butter chicken for my son that said was mild was Spicy . Really disappointed will not return again now which is a real shame .

Tandoori prawns is good but coconut rice lacks the aroma of coconut milk. It’s actually blend and ordinary.
Ordered Handi Lamb with chef’s special sauce unfortunately, it tastes of burned flavour and not great.
Best was the 3 glasses of mango lassi that beats other Indian restaurants.
I am rating only my order but I am sure they have other yummy curries too

A group of four old work mates booked a table for dinner and enjoyed a terrific evening. The food, and service was first class. Our waitress was most attentive and pleasant. The food was presented in a manner that suited us perfectly, as we were able to taste and share each other’s dish. Overall a great meal and it ended with us promising that we would return in the future.

Just the worst experience. Over 2.5 hours waiting for a delivery, after a phone call 1.5 hours in from the order they had to make the food again due to a mix up in the kitchen. Delivery driver then struggles to find the house (never happened before at this house). Rogan Josh had a burnt taste, frankly rubbish – don’t waste your time and go somewhere else, much better places around.

A great local hidden treasure for a delightful Indian feast with a very reasonable price tag and delicious offerings.
A special mention to the attentive service of waitress Debbie who went above and beyond to ensure my dietaries were catered for and also delivered exceptional service to everyone in the restaurant.

Best butter chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Just amazing. Not your normal butter chicken. It’s butter chicken on steroids. I couldn’t finish it all so I put it in the fridge and ate more when I could. It even got to the 4 day mark (I’m not a big eater) and I still wanted to eat it and risk bacterial food poisoning but unfortunately I had to throw out what was left 🙁 you won’t find better butter chicken anywhere else and it was hard to throw out as I had grown quite attached. Also highly recommend sipping on an ice cold solo can with it, exquisite flavouring combinations of butter chicken and fizzy lemon.
