Stopped in after a recommendation from a friend at work. This place had it all. Great atmosphere – cozy and eclectic. Ordered a chicken and beef empanada which were warm, flaky, crisp and delicious. The chicken was my favorite. Will definitely be back when I have more time.

Great place for empanadas!
They seem to be fried then baked – I am not sure – but the crust is light and not oily.
They serve an interesting spicy condiment with the empanadas – some mixture of pickled jalapeños, onions carrots- very delicious
We got 5 empanadas to go with a cup of homemade orange-carrot juice and it was delicious
Our toddler loved the empanadas con chorizo

The first two times I came was a few years and the brunch was excellent; less impressed with our two main selections this time but would definitely go back! Sat outside which was a pleasant experience; the restaurant is off of main street so a bit quieter. Ordered 4 empanadas: chicken (meh skip this one), chorizo, spinach and cheese (wife’s favorite), and spicy mix. Really enjoyed the ‘relish’ they give you on the side, great flavor. We only used hot sauce on the chicken one which says a lot as we use it on everything. I got the breakfast tacos and we were both surprised how bland they were. Would think you couldn’t go wrong here but needed more cheese or something at a minimum. My wife got the spicy and sweet chicken wrap; she wasn’t overly impressed but I liked it. Fries were fresh and excellent though.

I’m new in town and stopped by Division Café in Somerville to try their soup. The flavor was okay — I’d rate it 3/5. However, the price was surprisingly high. The menu shows one price, but I was charged a different one at checkout. When I asked, they told me the price changed because it was “dinner.”
For one empanada and one soup, I ended up paying $24.99, and it was takeout. They should really clarify their pricing to avoid confusion.

I am costa rican myself and let me tell you this place nails it every single time. Delicious in a very convenient location. Every time I come back to jersey I try to stop by!

Absolutely loved this place. The food was full of flavor and tasted so fresh, you can really tell a lot of care goes into each dish. Everything we ordered was perfectly seasoned and beautifully presented. The atmosphere was warm and lively, which made the whole experience even better. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, and they made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I’ll definitely be coming back and recommending it to friends and family.

Having visited this place numerous times, I can always count on a hearty and delicious meal! They serve authentic Costa Rican breakfast, lunch, and dinner, offering everything from light snacks like sweet and savory empanadas to more substantial dishes like Bistec Encebollado (Steak & Onions).
The staff is friendly, and the owner has a great sense of humor. He enjoys teasing me by suggesting new dishes to try, and he’s never steered me wrong.
This time, we ordered the following:
~ Almuerzo Campesino: A platter of beans, rice, diced vegetables, a fried egg, and Costa Rican-style sausage, all beautifully wrapped in a banana leaf. 5/5 stars.
~ Gallo Pinto: A mix of stir-fried rice, beans, cilantro, onions, and peppers, served with sweet plantains, a fried egg, fried cheese, and corn tortillas. You can add extra protein like chorizo, Costa Rican sausage, fish, pork chop, or steak for an additional cost. 4.5/5 stars.
The restaurant is always clean, and you can tell they take pride in their food.
There’s plenty of seating, though metered street parking can be challenging on weekends.

The food was delicious! Empanadas were the highlight. Sometimes bringing a toddler out to eat is not easy- but here everyone had a wonderful time. The staff here were SO friendly, welcoming, and accommodating. We will definitely be back to enjoy more delicious food and a great atmosphere.

Honestly absolutely embarrassing that a restaurant would send you food like this.
For starters the price, uber eats order.
Arroz con miniature camarones $19.99 and 15 chips with old guac $13.99
The guac def needs some lime, small container for almost $14 bucks, I mean even Costco has tastier guac.
Now the entree, arroz with camarones, I mean the last time I saw shrimp that small was in a cup of ramen, like come on. Charge me more idc, but give me a decent plate of food.
Rice was bland, 3 spoons full of salad ( not joking look at the pictures) and some plantains/bananas idk honestly.
Maybe the food in house is better, but you should also worry about your to go orders as mine sucked.
Sorry but I spent $40 on bland food and brown guac, I mean come on I would’ve ordered chipotle if I knew i was going to get this type of “Costa Rican food”
Bonus points, rice had nice color.

We wanted a quick bite nearby since we were on the go. My wife selected this place, and first look at the menu I thought why (especially with us being pescatarian). The food turned out to be AMAZING!!! We ordered the Arroz Con Shrimp, sliders with Shrimp substituted as meat, french fries and guacamole & chips. EVERYTHING was delicious and the food was not heavy after consuming!! This place is BYOB as well which is actually pretty awesome. The service was great, our waiter was the body builder looking guy, solid dude
