Traditional & contemporary Thai dishes like curries in a stylish small-chain outpost.

First of all, the ambience of this restaurant is amazing but here is the catch. Service and food is bland. Firstly, restaurant opens at 5 pm not 4:30 pm, you guys should change that.
Had to wait for an hour for our order to arrive. One of the orders, the noodles came out cold. The green Thai curry portion size is small and full of fillers. Upon asking about the delay we were told there was a big order that came at the moment we arrived. Definitely not suspicious. The tofu’s outside in the curry was chewy.
The green curry pho was alright. The food doesn’t taste authentic Thai. This is coming from a guy who adores Thai and explores different Thai food all the time.

Took my family for a birthday dinner and the place was clean, neat, and attractive. However, it also matters where you get a table is how much you will like the place.
We ordered some appetizers and dinner entrees with some soda and tea. Nothing to complain about, but the taste was not something you would want to go back for, especially considering the price tag. It was very average, and the portion sizes could be improved for some items given the price we paid.
The staff are friendly but busy enough to make customers wait for any additional requests or orders. Do I wish to go back? Probably not. I will give a try to any new Asian/Thai place around. #thaifood

I used to frequent this place because their food was good. Recently, the wait time has gotten to an unacceptable level and they’re constantly short staffed. Both times I visited Thai Basil recently resulted in us waiting almost an hour for the food to arrive. The first time we waited and the second time we had to leave because of the extremely long wait time. The server was nice but you could tell she was stretched very thin as well. To add insult to injury, the food price has risen significantly. $16 for a small appetizer, and $24 for pad Thai? These prices could be justified if they have quality service to back it up. But they do not. It’s unfortunate that once a great restaurant has gone down hill like this. I won’t be coming back.

I went here yesterday. I really enjoyed my food. The atmosphere was nice and a vibe. I wanted to sit outside but the person i was with didn’t so i sat inside. I ordered the egg rolls as a appetizer and for my entree i ordered vegetable fried rice with chicken . The egg rolls were so good. To the point that i ordered 2 more. They were fresh and paired with duck sauce. I highly recommend. The vegetable fried rice was good as-well it came with carrots, onions, scallions, mushrooms, broccoli ,egg and tomatoes. It was fresh as-well . The waiter was nice as-well. I can’t wait to go back and try another dish. I definitely will return

We came here last night as we were in the area and was so truly disappointing.
We walked in and the hostess with a pony tail dark hair and glasses could’ve been a bit friendlier. Before we sat down ato thank her, she walks away lol.
The food was disappointing. My go to was always the yellow curry, it not only was spicy (which it’s never been and they ask you from 1 – 5 how you want it, THEY NEVER DID, even my husband said it was spicy. The flavor of my curry dish was terrible and looked dark (yellow curry is never dark!
The pad thai was good the only thing that was good. they got rid of their crab Rangoon and now it’s some chicken mix thing, not spectacular.
Our server was nice and she was also the bartender.
Our bill was $81 and change SO NOT WORTH IT!!! Clearly their menu changed as is how they prepare it. This was our favorite spot, sadly not anymore.
Not going back, ever!

This was my first time visiting Basil and I wasn’t disappointed! The ambiance was inviting and the servers were pleasant. I will definitely visit again to try some other dishes. The basil rolls were nice, I did ask for a sweet and sour sauce as the original sauce was too hot for my taste buds The duck pho was delicious I would probably omit noodles next go around just for personal preference. The vegetable delight with chicken (optional) was cooked to perfection!

Bday celebration so went here for din din. It’s been a while since we been, forgot how yummmm their food was!! We just returned from Thailand a few mths before so the hubster is still feigning for their cuisine . Did get reservations, was a Friday night. Pretty busy. Our two servers were friendly although had a lil mix up w/ ordering so much that we didn’t even finish our apps that the entrées were out. Kinda frustrating but we made it work. Lots of good food though and didn’t make it go to waste – doggy bags!!! Will defitively return. And there are a few other locations in CLT and CHS, my 2 favorite cities!!!

I would rate Duke’s Thai above Basil Thai but the atmosphere is better at Basil Thai. Appetizers were good (chicken and beef kebabs as well as shrimp spring rolls). Volcano shrimp was decent. Pad Kee Mow was honestly a little disappointing, rather bland.
