I recently visited Mumbai Masala Grill on Rideau Street and had a good overall experience.
The highlight of the meal was definitely the lamb biryani. The lamb was well cooked, tender, and very flavorful, and the rice was perfectly prepared and aromatic.
The service was not very attentive, but it was acceptable. While it could have been more proactive.
If you’re craving a solid lamb biryani in downtown Ottawa, this is a good spot to try.

I come here very often since I live nearby, and it’s honestly the best spot in downtown! The food is always fresh, flavorful, and consistent. Their chole bhature is absolutely amazing perfectly spiced chole with soft, fluffy bhature every single time. The staff is friendly and the service is quick, which makes the experience even better. Highly recommend this place to anyone looking for authentic and delicious food!

We ordered noodles, veg Manchurian, fried rice, sweet lassi, mango lassi, and aloo tikki chaat. The food was fresh and flavorful—noodles and Manchurian were especially delicious. The lassis were refreshing, though a bit less sweetened than expected. The only dish that didn’t quite hit the mark was the aloo tikki chaat, which lacked the usual flavor and balance. Overall, a good experience and we’d be happy to order again!

From the moment we arrived, Soni welcomed us with such warmth that it felt more like visiting an old friend than dining at a restaurant. The food itself was fresh, simple, and wonderfully homely—exactly the kind of meal you’d crave when away from home. What truly set the experience apart, though, was the care and genuine hospitality Soni showed throughout our visit. Every detail made us feel comfortable and valued. Without a doubt, every time I return to Ottawa, a visit here will be at the top of my list—mainly because of Soni.

So delicious! Fantastic food – the paneer korma was deliciously spiced, and the onion was perfect. The service was incredible, we had a big group and they were so kind and accommodating, and even brought us some free dessert. Absolutely go to this place for delicious, inexpensive eats.

This place has the best Indian food in the locality. The food is super delicious. I have ordered Aloo paratha for my kid and chef made sure there is no chilly so he could enjoy it thoroughly. Our chicken gravy was super tasty. Food is very fresh. Best part is they have their own parking lot as the restaurant is located inside Days Inn Hotel.
