We stopped here for dinner and were pleasantly surprised all around. The atmosphere was welcoming and nice, calm. The barmaid was very nice, our food came quickly and was fantastic! We started with red beers and ended trying the Jameson orange special where they made a recipe I wanted. We ordered appetizers to share – steak tips, chicken strips, and mozzarella sticks. We sat at the bar and had great conversations with veterans on both sides of us.

Food was good, service wasn’t bad but can improve. They are short staffed. Atmosphere is ok. Could use more of a bar/lounge setting. Lights were on but could be more dim for that time of the day. I think after 5pm it should be more of a lounge feel not restaurant feel. Our server it was her first night. She did ok and was friendly. Jeremy is one of the better cooks they have had there.

Just like any business, you pay what they want for a product, after that the employees are what the management are. If the employee is poor in service, that is what the management wanted. I got the drink and food I paid for, I tried making conversation with the employee and I ended up learning in a round about way, they didn’t want to be there and they didn’t like people. Just because it is the VFW doesn’t mean that it is managed good. Small towns take customers for granted and take any employee they can get, so the management does not have to be there working. I was disappointed with the customer service and I blame that on what I would have to assume is poor training and management. Small towns and businesses aren’t dying, they are only killing themselves with poor management and laziness. There are two other businesses in town that compete against the VFW, I have been in this business before and wanted to go back. I can see why the locals want other options other than this establishment. I won’t go back but if they are the only ones open, what choice do you really have? If the other two are open and offer good service, I would go there.

Good food, friendly and quick staff. They were in a great mood and were good to my kids rather than treating them like annoyances, even though they were busy.

Tuesday morning, while passing through town, going home to mpls.,mn.,,we stopped,in Britton VFW for lunch and a Bloody Mary..we were greeted by Linda, very friendly, and she made us one of the best Bloody Mary’s,we’d had in a long time. Had a cup of cream of asparagas soup, and a chicken sandwich, with cheese and bbq sauce on it..Very very good, made by a very good cook Jeanette. Needless to say,we will be stopping there again when passing through!! Thank you girls so much!!
